Hi, planning a road trip around NW france, and have found that I need a Critair sticker to enter the pollution zone around Rennes, which is a bit of a problem as i have a hotel booked just outside the pedestrianised centre.
does anyone have experience in getting a sticker for an S3?

I don't have any experience on this but looked it up on the RAC website here

clicky

That suggests that you cannot get a sticker for a vehicle registered before 1997, so if the areas are in place, and this is enforced, looks like you might have an issue.

had a horrible feeling that might be the case, and of course being a Guernsey registered car - 509 it could be a bit attractive to the constablatory!
will check with RAC

Hi,
I've checked their website and this is needed only in case of pollution peaks.
Of course, you can have a bad luck and be there during such an event.
In this case, note that the 3 first days, you're informed, then the speed is limited and starting from day 4 you need a critair, then on day 6 this is restricted to 1,2 and 3 (so after 1997 for a gazoline car).
And those restrictions are effective from 7am to 8pm.
So, you will really be unlucky if you were banned.
