Petrol tank cradle joy

Had a stroke of luck the other day. There I was, curing a weeping sender unit seal and I noticed that my petrol tank cradle had seen better days. To cut a long story short, I found myself chatting to the parts guy at TVR in Blackpool,(Mike I think his name is.....) I bought a brand new tank cradle off him for £35 + vat or so, and then spent the rest of the day in surprise and euphoria that a relatively obscure part like this, for a 10 year old TVR is held in stock. Bonus. The new bit fitted nicely as well. If you need one, be quick, there are now 4 left; i know not if more will be knocked out. Cheers, keep yer rag down + yer chin up...

I took mine out for restoration etc 2 months ago and developed the corrosion into a hole. I had a new one made for me at a local fabricators which cost £45. I was told by my local dealer that even if the factory haven't got them in stock they have an amazing turn around time of a few days. For the same money you quoted. Up the 'S' !!! Cheers Mark

Yeah, mine had a few gaping holes in it after a quick poke with an old screwdriver. Not any more, however. Sender unit's still weeping though... bugger. Still, that'll teach me for trying to use silicone sealant on it, which if you hadn't guessed, is not petrol resistant......doh!!! Tonight's balmy summer drive makes it all worthwhile. As you so rightly johno, up the 'S'..!!

I've got a big fat 500 now, but had an F reg red S2 a while ago. Sold it to a friend (it was that reliable!) Still miss it - top motor

This is my first TVR and is a S1.5. I have done untold work on it as I knew I would have to when I bought it as I couldn't afford that much. I've cursed, sweared and nearly cried at times but I wouldn't hand it back for anything. I'm starting to get it to the point of being mechanically 'well sorted' and then I can start to make it look like it should ! My dad had 3 and so like father like son I suppose......... Cheers Mark
