On Saturday afternoon, following a minor altercation with Virgin trains I picked up my "new" S3c from Wiltshire.

I bought the Mica Red car from Midge - a fellow PH'ers, who was understanably a little emotional to see it go. Midge and his misses are fantastic people, and Heather and I would like to thank them for their kind hospitality.

The journey home was accompanied by what seems to be de-rigeur when picking up an S... wind, rain, pitch black - the works... on unfamiliar roads with an unfamilair car. However, it was a safe journey and although I was knackered when I got out - I still haven't stopped grinning. As for the Dartford Tunnel... well, best quid I've spent in ages.

I'd like to thank a few people for their support and advice whilst hunting for an S...

M@H - for his invaluable advice and even taking time out (and driving for an hour) to come and look at a car with me. Top bloke, top advice and thanks for putting up with all the inane questions.

Louise Macey - absolutely top person, and although I didn't buy her S (which might still be for sale) she was honest and open about the car. Mechanically it's in fantastic shape, but could do with some new carpets. I was prepared to do this and the car is priced accordingly, but the bigger door opening of the S3 was the way to go (I have restricted movement in my knees). Anyone who is interested, speak to Louise, or M@H (he saw the car with me) - it'll make a cracking S for anyone that's interested.

Heather (Mrs Podie) also deserves a thanks for kicking me hard enough to sell the Puma and buy the thing in the first place.

There are loads of other's who I should thank (primarily for support and answering questions), but can't remember everyone's name, so here are the ones I can remember; Mungo, N17 TVR, Carzee, Johno, Big M, SGirl, Scruff, Shnozz, Paul V, whoever it was that bought the big red wedge (sorry, forgot your name!) and anyone else I missed (sorry!). Last, but not least, Ted - for providing the invaluable resource that is PH.

Right, I'm off for an early lunch break - I think she's lonely, so I'm going to take her out for a spin.

No pics yet - needs a damn good clean too... so will make an effort to get some pics up next weekend.

Keep on meaning to take a picture, but ended up driving it instead.. (the car, not the camera).

Soooooo pleased for you Podie. I remember how frustrated you were trying to sell the Puma. Really looking forward to seeing it Sunday - I will bring my camera - hope it doesn't rain.

Perhaps we should have a run out to the Dartford Tunnel

Podie,

Congrats - Sorry to hear the weather was a bit pants but as you say it seems to be the norm. As you know i to brought my car from a fellow pistonhead (Smiles) and cannot say how friendly Miles and Sarah were towards terri ( one day to be missus rustoni) and I - further proof of pistonheads being more than just a website.

Edited because my spelling is cr*p.

Rustoni and Smiles - two people I forgot to mention in my note of thanks...

I was getting frustrated with trying to sell the Puma, but I held on, got a decent price and it's gone to a good home (new owner loves it).

I also forgot to mention that Heather and I met up with AOrchard - another lesser posting PHer last night for a natter. Once again, another top bloke and I'll try and drag him along to VW next time (you got that Adrian?!?!).

Big M - bring your camera... who cares if it's raining I'll be there! I feel like a big kid, who has just got his new toy... thumbs up to every other TVR driver who waved at me over the weekend, and middle finger to the grumpy git in the Griff..!

Dartford Tunnel meet? hmm... best quid I've spent all year. 2nd gear... 20mph, loud pedal... 50mph... brake - repeat until you run out of tunnel..!

Just taken the boss to one of our other sites (his car is in for service) - should have seen his face on approaching it in the car park..! What a picture!

Clear roads, that I know well (drive them everyday) and the weather and roads are dry... FINALLY had the chance to really open her up... OMG!

Couldn't work out if the boss was crapping himself, or enjoying it! - either way, he thinks I'm a loon now... got a great big grin all over my chevy chase. Actually enjoyed being at work today!

Thanks for all the well wishes, much appreciated. I know the S isn't the pinacle of sportscars, but probably an excellent introduction to what it's all about - but the fact that everyone takes the time to say "enjoy it" is fantastic!

Roll on the summer sun...

Fantastic stuff

I bought Louise's yesterday, subject to the sale of my old jallopy, so not counting chickens just yet, but hopefully I can join you at the Dartford Tunnel meet too. How many goes do you get for a pound?.

Can only echo your sentiments to the guys and gals on here, in my case especially M@H and Louise for help and honesty and, of course, yourself (check your mail).

Well done mate.
