Hi, Had an S3 for a couple of years which had a new (non sports) stainless steel exhaust when I purchased it from David Geralds. I was quite surprised at how good a V6 car sounds and regularly get pops and bangs from the exhaust, only the burble could be a little louder when low revs. Helped a friend buy an S3 from D.G''s which had a normal exhaust fitted and although it was quite rusty the sound from it was much louder especially when at idle. Could not find any holes either. David Gerald's said that the stainless steel exhaust can actually mute the sound slightly, which is preferable for long distances. However, mine's not my normal every day user, so I'm happy for it to be louder. I understand you can have the exhaust converted by having sound deadening packing removed or perforating the exhaust then re-sealing the box. Has anyone done this? If you perforated the exhaust did fumes get into the car? Otherwise, what did you think? Edited by Heath on Sunday 12th August 17:17 Edited by Heath on Sunday 12th August 17:19

Heath, im looking to get a new stainless sports for my S3C, posted a message for the best avaliable, but no replies. Emailed magnex, the TVR factory supplier, but they dont sell direct to public only make em for TVR direct. Would be nice if someone would post a reply with the loudest best made exhaust for a V6.....mark
Had mine from down at Peninsula. £380. also removed the cats.a lot louder when at idle and foot down. only problem I have had is that box is now slightly lower, but dont regret the change. SP

Try Wedge Automotive who advertise a sports system at £419 - just gone up from £389 im afraid, dont know what its like though. second thought - Try LeeBee who is a regular on this site, he supplies parts particularly for S series V6's. He fitted the one that is on my car, although I didnt own it at the time. Sounds great tho, loud & v8'ish. Look at a different thread & click his name to get an e-mail link good luck Giles

Tower View fitted one to my car a couple of months ago which is a fair bit louder than the standard system (even with extra rust holes in!!). From memory it was around the £400 mark and I'm very happy with it and the service I received. I believe it increases the bhp slightly as it is less 'baffled'than a standard system but if you ring them I'm sure they would be happy to tell you all about it better than I can. I did try buying one from wedge but gave up as the "person who knew about them" was never there when I called (three or four times) - This may have been an isolated case though, as I have not tried to buy anything from them since!!

OK Ted will probably kick my ar$e for this but I can supply a SS supersports exhaust for any V6S that will make any V8 (at speed, listen to a modern TVR as it comes past you and it is almost silent, mine can be heard 2 miles away!) sound like a hoover! (well almost!) it also lets out some very nice cracks and bangs on overrun. They come with Cerbera polished tail pipes and can be centre or V8S style exit.Very competetive too by the sound of it Cheers LeeBee tvr-v6@supanet.com

Hello again, Any of you guys seen the V6S on the Duke's "Best of British TVR" video, going around the Zolder circuit. What a weird sounding exhaust that car has, that's not a sports exhaust is it?
