Both roof latches on my S3C are broken. I would like to get some new ones even if the roof stays in place without them. Should I go for the more expensive ones made in stainless steel or for others made of plastic (are plastic ones available?)?
I hope someone can help me on this issue.
Thanks!

The steel roof latches are available from Leven Technology www.leventechnology.co.uk/
Look under TVR > Kick Plates, Grills, Badges, etc

The original plastic latches are from Southco www.southcoipsg.com/prd/detail_portal.showpage?nNodeID=2141&nLang_ID=0&vPN=E8-10-502-20

I have kept the original latches (1 repaired), but I imagine that the steel version is harder to damage.

I want some Griff struts too
You really need to find someone breaking a Griff though cos they are very expensive from TVR direct.

Try Cleave Motor Salvage. They seem to do a bit of specialist breaking - click on Rare/Classic under Parts Department to see what they're currently breaking, or to fill in a parts request.

You can't guarantee that the roof will stay in place without the catches - see this posting for details.

I finally decided to get the plastic roof latches. I actually found a distributor of Southco's parts here in Sweden, so if anyone else in Sweden would like to get new plastic roof latches you can order them from Colly Components AB in Kista in Stockholm. I gave 200 kr for a pair, which is about £14 at current exchange rates. Part number is E8-10-502-20.
Thank you all for helping me with this!

Cheers
Johan (and a black S3C with brand new roof latches)

RS Components ( http://rswww.com ) do the placcy catches... Schnozz fitted them on his S3... search back in the archives.. I posted the part number a few months back..

edited because the URL parser is broken by the RS URL.. www.com">try this:

oh bollocks to it.. cut & paste the first URL into a new browser window..
