Yup, sorry, mis-read that bit.
I know that Tower View have welded some new tubes into S's (TVRMark) recently.
It's often a body-off (credit card melt-down) job.

Think they raise the body a tiny amount to do it these days... easier than taking it off completely...

Out of interest, what colour seats are you after. I have a reasonable pair of Blue griff seats that I have had for a while, hoping that I could get them recovered to match the interior of my S1 (cream interior). But due to the cost of recovering I have put it off. I think I would rather sell them on (for a lot less than £500) than keep them in the loft any longer.

Drop me an email if interested

danny22 said: Thanks for the help everybody, its good to know you people are here to help. Although im not a complete TVR novice, ( i rebuilt and restored a 1983 tasmin 200 FHC a few years ago. IT made a great first car for me at 17 years old )
Im suprised at the cost of retrimming the seats, unfortunately they are beyond repair. ( i guessed £500 for the two) . I managed to get the car over a pit today, only to find out the outriggers were rotten, how easy are they to change and where can i buy the bushes. Luckily the rest of the chassis is solid, just needs a repaint. Thanks again everybody

My apologies folks i do mean trailing arms. So do the S3 arms fit straight in or are there modifications required. Thanks for your help everybody. I hope my S will be ready for the summer, ive still got lots of work to do including a full respray. Luckily my business partner is a car sprayer by trade, this should save me a few quid. Thanks everybody

My S1 with the TSW Stealths is still advertised on the Steve Reed website (I bought it May 2001) and onthe Duxford Tanks and Planes main pic on the TVRCC website.

The S3 arms do fit. Exactly TVR were remaking the s1/S2 arms so that is another option.

very nice Bills1 like the colour too.

Just had a look at the Steve Reid site - £10.5k for an S3C with 54k on the clock ??????!!!! bloody hell. I wonder how much that nice looking S4 sold for then! If the S3 was £10.5 then the S4 must have been at least £12.5?? I know where to trade mine in when I need that Griff. Oh, the 4.3 Griff probably sold for £30k. damn.

but if the selling prices are 30% or so higher then are the trade buy prices proportionate?! it would certainly give anyone P/xing with them scope to argue a good trade in price. feck all good if you are paying top dollar for your new one though.

And only a week(hopefully) to go before it I get ny S1 back with its fully reconned engine, plus recored rad, new clutch etc.
Where do you all live I will visit you.
I will need to do a few thousand miles in a few weeks to run it in so what better than to visit pistonheads.
Any hints on running in a 2.8 v6?

For retrimming of your 'S' seats contact
Fordway Trim based in Blackpool Ex TVR factory trimmer
very good, highly recommended.
Unit is near the end of M55.

Not specifically that engine, but general advice is don't boot it too soon.. Its easy to do, but resist. You'll have spent a fair bit sorting the engine, shame to blow it..
