Where to buy an s3C

Jon,

I'd suggest the PH classifieds or the TVRCC classifieds. Both are likely to throw up an 'enthusiast owned' car. Many dealers don't stock them nowadays although some of the specialists do or will know of some for sale.

What sort of budget are you thinking of ?

I would agree with JSG, always try and buy from an enthusiast ie a PHer or TVRCC member, I was looking for an S3 this time last year and all the cars I saw from private ads, autotrader etc were right dogs !

Just stuck my question in a relevant thread, I'd actually be happy with any S, even though I was told by a dealer the S1 is rather underdeveloped (NOT my words - his) compared to later S's. My budget would be up to £6000ish and I have been excited to see some cars at under £5K though would guess they haven't been treated particularly well...

As for the TVRCC it seems here at least it gets a very positive thumbs up so those beer tokens will have to go (Shnozz can't help being a tight arse - most of my formative years were spent in Kings Lynn! )

I agree with everyone who says the TVRCC is a good thing. Not only do you get the superb 'Sprint' magazine every month, but you get to go to the likes of 'Back Home' (booking soon so join quick) and the Zolder Continental Meeting (not been yet myself but hear nothing but fantastic things about it). Not to mention all the many new friends I have made through the club and regional meetings.

Go for it.

Nice S3, British Racing Green, low mileage. Black leather interior, with chrome dashboard.... slightly different from the usual wood / creme leather interior I've seen on other S's. Picking it up tomorrow morning!!!
Can't wait.. don't know if I'll sleep tonight! It's like Christmas Eve when you're 10 years old!!

What do you mean by chrome interior? Chrome bits? Any pics?

Haven't got any pics yet.. will take some when I pick her up tomorrow.

Basically, the carpet's black, seats are black leather, and where the wood verneer usually is, is this really polished chrome. Look's cool.

You can forget sleeping tonight! You'll also be walking around with a stupid grin on your face for the next few weeks. I picked my S3 up 2 weeks ago and the grin is still firmly fixed. Have lots of fun.
