MY S2 IS NOW IN THE LOCAL FORD DEALER BEING FIXED. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT I COULD ONLY START THE CAR ON FULL THROTLE OR BY UNPLUGING THE CONNECTOR TO THE "TPS". I SUSPECTED THE NEW "TPS" THAT I FITTED THREE WEEKS AGO BUT THE TECHNITION HAS INFORMED ME THAT THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF "TPS" ALTHOUGH ONLY ONE IS LISTED IN THE PARTS LIST. THE DIFFERNCE IS THAT THE FEED AND EARTH WERE CHANGED AROUND SO THAT IF YOU FIT A LATER "TPS" ON A OLDER ENGINE IT WILL READ BACKWARDS SO ON START UP THE ECU THINKS IT IS ON FULL THROTLE AND FLOODS THE ENGINE AND IDLES ROUGHLY. THE MOD FOR THIS IS TO MODIFY THE PLUG BY SWOPPING THE FEED AND EARTH OVER SO IT READS CORRECTLY

I HOPE THIS IS OF USE TO SOMEBODY

I did a wiring diagram a year or so ago for that which is floating around, sorry you didn't get it but I thought you had eliminated the TPS as the problem?

When Ford changed the throttle pot to gold connectors a few years ago they also changed the wiring. I went to buy a new one and was told that I also needed the modified wiring harness (with gold connector plug).

Glad to hear you got it sorted L+F.

I had to do the Mod when my first one went, we've just about all been there at one point.

Cheers
