Classic car insurance
Discussion
I have been thinking about getting an S-series, and have seen some really good deals if it is insured as a classic car. However, all of the insurance companies I have tried ask the following question:
What make/model is your main car?
This gets tricky because I live in the city centre and work in the city centre, so my main transport is a push bike. This doesn't seem to compute with the insurance companies. Given that most classic policies have a restriction on total mileage anyway, does anyone know of a classic car insurance company which doesn't require the holder to have two cars?
Alternatively an insurance company that can be reasoned with might be a start.......

Two companies I have good experience with are:
Carole Nash (Broker) - my current insurer and only do 'classics' or bikes (motor!!). Cost for my S3 'bout 220 quid with 4,000 miles limited, but agreed value.
Lancaster - used to insure my MG (no, don't choke) through them. Very helpful and seemed to understand non 'run of the mill' enquiries.
good luck

I found them very helpfull
BTW give them a call, I found their website was quoting around £1000 to much. May be fixed now, but they are very professional & friendly on the phone.

I use Footman James as I have for my classics for many years now. They are reasonably priced hence I also insure my Volvo T5 & Peugeot 307 with them.
You will appreciate them all the more as a TVR owner as they offer Free Roadside & Recovery anywhere in Europe. Not that our Tivs breakdown of course, just peace of mind!
