after a winter period of some electrical gremlins, the weather has been truly marvellous, the car has been faultless, it is Zymoled and looks the dogs danglies and life is generally sweet. A message to any S owners having a "rough patch" - its all worth it

I've read loads about LeeBee on this forum.. everything from shiney interior bits to full services.

Does he have a web site as such?

I'm looking to get my new s3 serviced / checked out, so if it's the sort of thing LeeBee does...

Get my car back Thursday morning just in time for Easter - heading over to central Wales with PLewis66 and his wedge - I am longing to be in the position you are in - its been one of the longest weeks in my life and I never knew you could miss a car as much as I've missed mine - its quite scary - Still roll on thursday - probably another sleepless night on Wednesday

Ren - I'd suggest a run through Castleton, up the pass and along Rushup Edge on the way back towards your part of the world. Have another dent in my pipe due to Snake Pass being somewhat bumpy at the moment. Odd, last time I went along that road I don't remember my Landy grounding out..

Sounds good, I have to be in work for twelve so am aiming for the quickest way back - it usually takes me an hour to find RT so it will leave me about an hour to get back to the big city get changed and high tail it to work - mind you after a week of no TVR (again) I don't give a monkey's where I drive

Richard's at the right end of town for Snake Pass so as you leave his garage, go down the hill, left at the bottom, up the hill to the roundabout, straight over, (you might like to drop a gear here - university students usually most appreciative when I do that) and carry on that road until you see signs for the A57 peeling off to the right just after some shops. If you pass the Holiday Inn with it on your right, you've missed the turn, if its on your left as you go up a hill, then you are ok. Watch out, there is a speed camera at the top of the hill..

That puts you on the A57 and all thats stopping you from home are trucks, tourists, numpties and Glossop. Go this way, it'll be quicker than getting over the other side of town then negotiating the A6 through Stockport..

To get to Richard's reverse the above.. Watch the speed camera as you enter on the 57, down the hill, merge with the traffic from your right at some lights, down the hill past hospital and uni, over the roundabout and sharp right at the next roundabout, (much smaller) by BMW garage. Sharp right at the top by the lights down a smallish road, (Trippet Lane), right just before the Dog and Partridge and you are there..

yes i did think i was tempting fate a little

everything perfect, even decided i would take her out at lunch and have a little drive up to the public house. not often i take her out during the day as the office is central town, traffic is heavy and cannot be arsed to get her out of the underground car park when often blocked in.

Yep... the S was a corking little car.. the Chimaera's great but doesn't seem to have the chirpy enthusiasm of the S..

Still.. I've got a bigger boot now..

I finally admitted it to myself last night .. I prefer my old S to the Chimaera... my wife thinks I'm mad... and I must be I suppose..

I used to have the grin factor every day I drove the S.. but with the Chimaera it just isnt there... I've been trying so hard to like it, but its just not got the spirit of the S.. Much faster, much more comfortabe, more reliable, more everything really.. just less fun.

I'm doomed...
