Does anyone know anything on rats or mice?, I been working on the S2 today and noticed some rodent shites in the under bonnet area, now normally I am not bothered by this (my workshop is on a farm so quite normal in winter months) but the said shites are about 1" long! , now this is worrying (I shut the bonnet and came home), so what size creature does this sort of thing? I think they/it are after a feed on my thermotec!

Cheers

After getting my newly purchased S home, I was having a good poke around under the bonnet and found a load of hazelnut shells with the top neatly taken off resting on top of the engine. Never found the animal involved but come to think of it there was a bit of a whiff from the air vents....

'Roasted Rats' !

That'd be nice for dinner !!

Can't believe you're still in that shed ! I thought you were moving.

I suggest you keep the doors on the car shut as their tastes may get a little more expensive than thermotec. Having dealt with this stuff of late if they have been eating it you won't be able to burn them out anyway, does tend to insulate against heat !!

Good luck with your tiger hunting !

Ere whats wrong with my shed-sorry WORKSHOP, it can still house 5 cars and tools (plus wildlife!), no seriously I would like to move to larger premises but I will have to do the S's full time and at the moment it's not economically viable (mind you if I stopped giving free advice! ), I am looking into it though as it does need sorting out!

Try a rat trap - like a big moustrap. Watch your fingers when setting it. Rats can take bait without setting it off sometimes, so secure the cheese with a bent paperclip or similar. They don't like it up 'em!

There are Coypu in the UK (they escaped from fur farms) Could probably nibble its way through a whole car The rat's probably a more likely candidate though-Rentokill can supply poison boxes big enough to take a rat. Rat traps are fine until you stand on one. Ouch

Being as I am from the country when I was at school I was taught about these here Coypu things and how we killed 'em locally.

They used to trap 'em quite easy down along the ditches and dikes (you've got a lake outside the shed Lee !)in chicken wire type cages.

To kill 'em you stuck a stick in the top of their head.

Now this is not rocket science here, but Coypu's have an extremely soft skull which makes this form of murder much easier.

So off to B&Q for you Lee for some cages and some sticks ! Pop into Tesco's and grab some suitable bait and you can have hours of murderous fun !!!

Was I really taught that in school, that's horrifying !!
