Further to the little bandit being broken, I have decided to replace the ignition module (Ford part no;1629456, for those that are interested), but I am also wanting to replace the coil for good measure. The trouble is that, according to my learned source, the one that is on there now is not a Ford part. Do I replace it with an off the shelf Ford one, which should do the job, or do I try and replace it with similar? The coil on there now is about half size, and is situated in a plastic metal coated core. Is there anybody out there with an S3c that can enlighten me and put me out of my misery?

It's the thing bolted on to the driver's side rocker cover that feeds the wiggly amps to the distributor, after it's bumped up the voltage, which is controlled by the ignition module, which is bolted onto the side of the distributor...
