Heres one in the eye for all those TVR knockers (steady) out their.

My 13 years old S2 has just sailed through its MOT for the 5th year in succession.

Don't know about before that as it wasnt mine !!

The only slight problem was with emissions which was cured by filling up with unleaded instead of Optimax.

Fantastic !!!!!!!

Do you get your MOT's done at a dealer or specialist or just a local test centre?

My MOT is due October, but the next service is not due until December, and I got a 12,000 mile one last time - so don't want it serviced again so soon.

I'm thinking of taking it to Tower View and asking them to do an MOT and Waxoyl (sp?) while it is there.

Bit of a mix really over the years, the mechanics in the test centres appreciate something a bit more exotic than a Eurobox to play about with.

Since I moved to Farnham I'm spoilt for choice with TVR specialists within a 20 minute drive so tend to use one of them simply from the point of view that if there is something wrong it can be fixed or parts sourced with minimum fuss.

Neither, I just take it to a local guy I have used for around 15 years, he doesn't do the MOT himself but checks the car over before he takes it to the Test Centre.

These cars are fairly straight forward, It is only a Ford engine bolted to a Chassis, so I think it is more important to find a good mechanic you can trust rather than going to a specialist or Dealer.

We just have to work togeher, if he gets stuck with something I try and find out the part number or how to source a replacement.

I get it Serviced, MOTed & Waxoyled all at the same time, usually for around £250.
