i am looking to change my headlight bulbs in my V8s any one got any good bulbs that they would recommend , and if i go to my local halfords what one's fit the S seris as it does not seem to clear in steve heaths book or am i just a thicko. by the way i have now had my V8s 3 weeks and have never been happier with a car , sold my Nissan Pulsar GTIR to fund it and have had about 25 seconds worth of regrets, already dreaming of a griff 500

Quite a lot of things are not in Steve Heaths book but that doesn't make you a thicko. At some point in time in order to fit new bulbs you will have to take the old ones out, so why not do that now and determine which bulbs are fitted, probably H4. Then go along to Halfords or any good motor factors and buy some higher wattage replacements of the same type. A WORD OF WARNING Be careful how high a wattage you go to because you could overload the wiring. Remember you will never achieve modern car lighting with a lens designed just after the war. I suggest you get used to the lights because they will seem good compared to the Griff ones when you get one

I use Osram Cool Blue bulbs (only approved blue bulb even though they are more of an arctic white with a bit of purple!) these after re wiring my S light wiring are as good as the brand new Astra sat on my drive, maybe I just have good headlamps? if you do get some put one in first and compare it to your old one! Cheers Lee

Bunghole..bit off thread. Where did you locate your V8S, I've been looking 8months plus now and getting a little frustrated. Was it a private purchase, price, year, mileage, etc. Mail me if you would..Roger.3.Taylor@bt.com Edited by Lofty Lad on Tuesday 20th February 06:54

I'm taking a 93 V8S to Peninsula for an inspection this weekend. If any problems come to light that the owners not prepared to rectify I may well give Adrian a ring. How fluid is he on price, I don't wish to spend over £12k..car looks good though.
