i don´t know anywere how my aircon works, but i know that my S series isn´t normal...
i´m now open a own topic for the alien s Series from germany - maybe we find out more about the origin of it!
it´s very funny to post with you and it´s good to learn a little bit more english.
remember that i´m not an english native speaker, so please do not use complicate words and explain things more simply for me!
thanks
peter

Guten arben Peter,

Cheers for the pictures, that car looks excellent with those wheels on,the round tail lights look wicked and IMO look better than the square ford lights.
Also like the stainless wing mirrors.
I've never seen one like that before.
Do you Know any of its history.

simon,

i thought obout mount the original wheels again but in the meantime i like it.
maybe the boot rack i unmount in the future.
the mirrors are terrible because you can´t see anything in it!
in the original mirrors on my "original" S series before you could see, what is behind you.
but otherwise...with a V8s you don´t often have someone behind you
unfortuatly i don´t know much abuot the histry.
the previous owner drove the car since 1994.
therefore i don´t know anything...
is there a way to find it out with the serial number?

Shocked! Well is it, isn't it, Well I'll be blowed, looks like its fitted with a ram jet from the back. It could be a modified TVR (ME262) this was indeed a special piece of equipment which was developed a few years ago and I'm suprised that you lot have not seen this before. Most were destroyed and left in a heap at the end of runways i seem to recall.

However, I like the look of this.

I'm having a stab in the dark here, I reckon this is an ex yank car (left hand drive) who has seen better than the ford light, and indeed fitted corvette rear lights, or could be from a Mazda RX7 which also had simalar round rear lights. (somehow I don't think that they are from a certain Italin car) the car does appear to be real from the pics.

Give us the chassis number then we can really do some work on it with TVR.

gadgit.

I can only think if you get in contact with TVR in Blackpool with the serial number or you could get in contact with TVR North America in Ontario,Canada. They might still have some infomation in there files.
I understand your problem with the mirrors, i can imagine them shaking alot and also not being very good.
But the Wheels Look Great.
If your car has a European Serial number i have some info(steve Heaths Book on the S series) on what year it is ,colour codes,so if you want to e-mail me it i could send you info or at least you would Know if it was an American import or European.

Simon do you have any more information on this than whats in the bible? As I was wondering as mine has a 'A' plant code, I'd be buggered if it wasn't made at Blackpool?
I'm not so sure if the build number isn't just for the production line for all models that year ie 1992, 2604 being the total production of S's over several (7?) years.

PWISSEL do you have a photo of this beast then? You can add it to your PH profile and make it publically available. I'm still not totally convinced this is pucker though, or should I change my name to Thomas!

Harry

PS having just seen the picture posted by Ted I believe some of what i said above may have been superceded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tell you what, I bet the visibility is a bit better for parking with the hump being out of the way of the driver.

Interesting that you use the S3C as an example and, on this occasion, in prefect england

I guess the rear lights and boot rack are a matter of taste. But wire wheels? Are they really up to the job of putting 200+ bhp down through modern tyres? Anyway, nice to finally see the car, will you be bringing it to the continental meeting?

The other interesting thing about this car is the air intake. If PT can get the engine bay shots you will see that it has been routed over the top of the Radiator ?????

I am not a V8 or V8S specialist but I'm sure the majority of V8's have there air filter near the air flow meter in fornt of the passenger bulkhead. This air intake over the Radiator would surely be a route to finding cold air, although I suspect it would be rather warm considering the pipework used to get it ack to the plenum is metal in some areas over the top of the Catalytic Converters !! Hence warm air and down on power.

Peter you would know more about this .....

Cheers

Haven't seen how it is done on the alien, but what you've described sounds like the standard arrangement for a V8S. On pre-cat cars the (metal) duct goes straight forward over the exhaust and the air filter is positioned sideways over the top of the rad. On cat cars it's even worse as the duct wraps *under* the exhaust and then up behind the rad to the same place. Both of them are ideal ways to warm the inlet air for winter economy and exactly what you don't want for maximum power in hot weather. This is why I fitted the cold air box just in front of the windscreen on mine.

Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
