Hi chaps,

I have found that my passenger door has dropped, is there anything I can do to get it back up!

How do I get at the hinges? Are they adjustable or are new pins required?

Cheers

Wayne,
try this thread www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=11&t=7058

I have replaced the bolt on the lower hinge on the passenger door, attached is a photo of the hinge and bolt it might help you understand the set up. Use plenty of WD40 before you start and if the bolt just keeps turning then undo the two nuts either side of the hinge and remove the whole unit, this is what happened to mine as it was too corroded to be able to be withdrawn. Lower bolt is M10 x 75mm IIRC.

Went here about a month ago. On mine it was just the pins had worked loose. Firstly remove the interior door trim then the metal window frame - 4 screws on the top leading edge of the door and 1 bolt inside the front edge of the door. This will give you access to the top and bottom hinges. Each hinge is made up of a bush held in by two bolts; in the middle of which is a large pin 17mm head. I removed the pin cleaned it then put thread lock on the thread and greased the body of the pin. Made sure I didn't over tighten when I put it back. I did both top and bottom while I was in there and doors now not perfect but pretty close. It's worth doing as mine had got so bad the top pin had come completely adrift. Gave the wife a shock when the door came off in her hand.
Best of luck
Chris P.

BIG TIP....

If you ever have to take the door trim off - replace the securing nut, you will know what one I mean (knuckles scraped) with a WING NUT.

Next time after removing the speaker you can just reach up into the inner door and remove the wing nut by hand.(M4 IIRC)
