The other Cerbera was froggie and there was Mick's Chimaera.

The Renault 5 wasn't in our group - at least I don't think it was

Even if he wasn't though, I'm sure that the photos would be spectacular, never mind lifting a wheel under braking - he had at least three in the air . Following the car through the hairpin I thought that he'd broken the suspension links to the front uprights - the wheels looked to be at about 45 degrees!

Absolutely bonkers car, with possibly the worst suspension ever. Full marks for keeping it anywhere near the track

These were the PHer cars. If there are any other shots that you feel gave a sense of the occasion, black Seat after his crumple zone was tested, mental Nova, etc. please add them.

Hello PHers,

Am I a PHer?? Don't know!! But either way, big thanks to Bob for organising the day

Got totally wrapped up in the car, this was first full track day since total reroute of fuelling system and new hoses, done by Motoscope, but met a few peeps without knowing if they were PHers or not???

Mr Procter's Puma was way down on power as anti lag was switched off & the ECU being used wasn't mapped for the car apparently........

Was great fun, end of first session we found one wheel held on by only one wheel nut due to a faulty rim, which was kind of scary.

Looking forward to turning up the boost and getting some decent fuel

As for the suspension/camber......tis a touch of negative camber on the fronts and the rear end does absolutely naff all other than bunny hop happily, following wherever the wheel is pointing. Might look unsettled outside but the levels of grip are pretty stunning.

Will be at Croft on a regular basis so if anyone is about come and say hello & feel free for some passenger laps.

3rtt, fine piece of avoidance/off roading heading towards Tower on the first lap, thought about following you through but the 5 is even lower than the Noble.

Finally, would be interested in photos.

Um, are photos likely to be added to the web? I'd like to see them but don't see the mileage in buying a CD full of them myself (I'm not fussed about full res/high quality you see)

No I don't want Ian's work put on here for free. The few we have seen were put there because Ian knew we would be eager to see something.

Ian put a lot of effort and time into this and deserves to reap some reward. Sorry Stefan but I'm only trying to be fair to everyone.

Why not join us at Shafto's on the 30th Sept. Ian will be there and will have the photo CD's with him. You'll find us a friendly lot with a passion for cars so you should fit in well.

Blue 'Netta with racing decals and little or no rear view mirrors me thinks. I thought the safest (and advised on track days) place to overtake is on the straight on the left side of the slower car. Does help if the slower car is keeping an eye on mirrors. It came as somewhat of a suprise to find said 'Netta pulling to the left as I was committed to come pass also on the left. So the old rallycross instinct days came back in flash, (Just as bloody well) and took to the grass to avoid a potentially expensive GRP and mechanical bill. By this stage, my virgin track day passenger had filled his first set of combat pants and requested I go back and 'Deck' said 'Netta driver.

He (passenger) calmed down after loading him with rather dodgy looking bacon sandwiches.

Overall a great day. Some great pix from Ian H. I cannot wait to purchase the CD with the other shots. Bob, thanks for organising, and I think you are right, there is a bit of fresh air under the right front tyre of Ian H's shot on page 13.

look forward to seeing you all at the end of the month.

Cheers,
Ian. (Hughes)

Selmer in which car?
Wendy - looks a confident entry to Hawthorne?

I just knew something was going to happen to tha Seat! Anyone know what and how and did it involve anyone else - I hope not

I was the latecomer in the Dark (Cobalt) Blue wedge with the little enthusuastic fella running around.

If anyone wants a peak at some of the photos I took (just a random selection of motors) have a look here:
http://antonymckenna.fotopic.net/c279798_1.html
You can make them full size and the res is quite good.
However, if I was taking part in the days racing I would definately want that picture CD.
Hope to catch more of you all soon.

Yep good day, thanks again to Bob for the organising.

Memorable moments - Richards G20 spinning just in front of us comming out of the hairpin and Ian's noble in the rear view mirror then flying past on numerous occasions!

As I said on the other tread, I'm up for a CD

Roll on the next one! (next week, perhaps )

Mike does say sorry for that one. The other thing about this day is that there were novices on the track. This was the first time that Mike had been out on track and simply didn't see you (he wasn't going that quick and you were). Just because the car had stickers on it, didn't mean it had a racing driver in it.

In his defence though, as the incident occurred into a corner, was there really enough straight left, considering the mixed experience of all drivers.

Edit - for clarity - He does admit that he made a mistake and was more relieved than anybody else that no damage was done.

Ian_H- how did you do that? The Lotus was utterly, utterly filthy, covered in mud and bird cr*p, but in your photo it looks shiny and gorgeous. Do you have special 'make this car look clean' software?!

annoying everyone who spent hours polishing their cars because we had a pro photographer

Lets just call it a trackday encounter. Nobody intended anything and no damage done.

A mystery alien planted a video camera in my car sometime during the day, so therefore I have some video taken from inside the car for a 2 - 3 laps.

I will bring the footage along to the meeting at the end of the month.

Cheers,
Ian.

I had a mystery alien place a video in my car aswell, only I got the Frank Spencer of Aliens and the bloody thing fell off and landed in the passenger footwell. Even prior to it falling off, the only footage it caught was of the sky.
