then more than likely you'll be passing me on the way to the A686 over Alston

I think polar993 may join us as well - the rest will probably head over the A66...

I work in Team Valley. If you ever see/hear a Green S going in to Newcastle in the evening across the Redheugh Bridge, that's me. The jury's still out on this one for me. I'm due to build a computer for a friend and may be doing it that weekend and going the the gf's exhibition.

Ah, the 686, I absolutely love that road! Which way do you go towards it? I normally go up the A1 and then down the A69....

I live on the other side of the river so usually head up through Low Prudhoe, Stocksfield, Riding Mill. It would be easy enough for me to head across the river to the A69 mind...

We could meet in Horsely? It's just off the A69 & across the river from me Say on the road leaving (it's straight and good visibility for cars needing to pass). Hows about 8AM?

Yes Stefan, but you're not building the PC in East Grinstead, Surrey. So driving down to Surrey for Saturday on Friday night, buiding a PC, then driving to Oxford to see the GF then back to Newcastle on Saturday night, to leave on Sunday to drive around the Lakes; al in all could prove a little tiring and costly.

Well I could take my bits down there and build it there if you like

Why not come as a passenger? I'm sure there will be seats available somewhere!

This looks like a failure to prioritise.

Drop everything else and come to the Lakes with us. If he's a real friend he'll understand why his PC won't turn up on time and this could be a good test of how much your GF loves you.

Ah, but the PC is needed for his business, and I can kill 3 birds with one stone. PC building, seeing he gf's exhibiton and seeing my parent's as I haven't sen them since Summer.

Anyhow, he hasn't ordered the parts yet, so I'll only be going if they all trun up before then.

Pah, you wooser! I've done St. Austell (Cornwall) and back in a day from Teesside. Eyes like p155-holes in snow afterwards mind... also drove from northern Denmark, via Germany, Holland, Belgium to France and back through the Channel Tunnel to Leicester - in a day. In a van.
