Alright chaps

Don't actually want to go into Sunderland for the air show as I can't be chewed with the crowds but would like to watch the planes land and take off from Teesside airport.

Is this possible or will I be moved on by security?

Struggling to find any information from previous years whether this is allowed or not.

Cheers beer

Just done some digging, and the majority of aircraft are going to be based at Newcastle, so Teesside is probably not the best choice.

Think previous years they were based at Teesside due to the cost Newcastle airport were charging.

Guess they've worked something out!

Cleadon Hills sounds like a winner to me smile

I've done the show for the last 4 years now and will be there on Saturday. We park at the Fulwell Quarry car park and walk to the front, carrying a chair each and a cool bag containing beer.

Rather than mingling with the crowds, we walk North to around where the Morrisons is and park the chairs on the front of the prom, just above the beach. We get no one in front of us and have a rail to lean on. The main crowds are half a mile away and the aircraft still fly in front of us. It makes for a brilliant, free day out. Oh, and we get lunch from Minchella's chippy. It's usually busy, but they don't half get through the orders.

Just hope the weather clears a little, I can see it being a little lacking in visibility at this rate!
