Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and I wonder if anyone can help, I bought a Kia sportage xs 2.0 crdi 138 bhp 4wd in the intention to fix it and keep it to myself as I needed a bigger car without going into too much details I bought of eBay with a head gasket failure and the car was parked up since last October! Bought with a help of a friend who know a lot about cars we took the head a off and yes the head gasket needed to change so bought a new head gasket, new timing belt kit and new rocker gasket and we started to built the top end again and after everything went in place charged the battery and with a help of a neighbour with a jump lead the engine was turning but the car wouldn't start, after many attempts the car finally started and the engine sound quiet but once it started my neighbour started to rev it hard I told him to stop but all if a sudden we heard a horrible loud clicking noises once he took his foot of the gas and the engine stopped! After having a look inside without trying to fire it up again we found the timing belt jumped 3 tooth and after taking the head a part again there was a broken loose Intel rocker arm and after further inspection we found 3 out of the four Intel rocker arms broken!
After studying my option I have 2 of them and I hope I can get some advice here, either buy a second hand complete head with a cam or take the head to a place in Durham for head skim and changing the 16 valve stem and inspect the cam?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
