Although f1 do offer a lot of added value throughout the rest of the year, lots of niggles etc they've helped me with, often with no charge, so for me anyway, possibly worth paying the premium.
I don't think F1 are the only place that will sort little niggles out for you FOC. IMHO.

Dan
Yeah, thats very true Dan, all I mean is I've got an already established trusting relationship with them. I'm guessing they don't seek payment for niggles as they know I'll be back for the big chargeable jobs.
and sure I take on board other garages would probably offer similar though, so point taken. beer
Plus you don't have far to walk on your lunch for a drool do you Sean biglaugh

fair point which i can understand. however £100 more for what is just an oil change is madness. F1 did do a reasonable C servce on my old S1 which came in at quote. Maybe they're different if you buy a car from them. But I have received conflicting advice in the past particularly on tyres.

Also my S2 has part dealer and part indi history and as i plan to keep it for good hope that wont make a difference!

will report how saturday goes !

Well I went and got my S2 serviced by Colin last Satruday, dropped the car off after finding the garage. Colin really seems to know his stuff and was surprised by all the attention that he had got recently, presumably because of me posting this here and on pistonheads.

I really cant say fairer than I dropped the car off, Colin offered his M100 for me to use, my wife was with me in her car as we had other chores to do, so we did them and Colin called 30 minutes before we were gonna go back and said give him another 30 minutes or so to get the undertrays back on.

Turned up as he was finishing off stamping the service book etc he convinced me to have a shot in the Elan......wow its really different than I expected and really punchy! If the next one is quicker again it'll be amazing.

I think Colin said he'd been there for about 4 years and gradually built things up. Cost was exactly as quoted and with the chap who actually worked on my car telling me about the state of my brakes but actually knowing what he meant was a change from my Lease car sevicing I normally get :clp

I will definately giving Colin a shot at my future servicing needs

Had the car 'A' serviced by Colin today. I believe in credit where credit's due and so am giving a big thumbs-up to Revline. All work carried out in a most professional manner and attention to detail was pleasantly suprising. Everything was done that I asked for including a lazer geo check and wheel balance all for a very acceptable credit-crunch-beating price. Good effort thumbup
