.....and I thought you had a hard top pram. The toys should just bounce around inside much like the people will on those wonderful country roads

You shouldn't be allowing the kids toys anyhow. They should be holding on for Dear life.

The kids just yell "Faster Dad Faster!"

The wife shouts "slow down - I feel sick"

Bob I know you're enthusiastic, but we can't drive on the train tracks. Especially with a train on it.

Well it's looking good!!! I've got my handbrake cables attached now, I have both struts off, one of which has been rebuilt with it's nice spanky 40mm lower spax spring, I've sanded and sprayed both strut tops to make em look nice, and it'll take me all of 30 mins to do the other strut tomorrow. Then, it's just a case of box oot (for the lads ) new clutch, new box back on, put the struts on, fill'er up with fluids and away!

Should be able to get the box and clutch done tomorrow like - can't see it taking more than a day!

as CB-Daves Pug gets fixed, a Marlin breaks

Tonight, the ever increasing fun that is the Manifold decided to break on me again. This time it isn't so bad (apart from the mis-firing, the "kangarooing"...), but I do know what the problem is and it's ultimately a quick fix.

But, and this is a big but (I don't like big butt's and I aint lying here) theres a new squealing, which started tonight. On first inspection appears to be around the alternator. So I'm hoping it's the belt, but without proper light it is hard to tell.

Had my first break down anyway. Sheesh, what a bloody week Exam results, car breaking down (2nd in 2 weeks), something which I'm not talking about on here just yet, coursework at Uni taking it's toll, lack of sleep...

While as I will make every effort to get the Marlin fixed (it's not a big job, it's more I don't have the time to do it due to a group project a week today). I'll see what happens tommorrow afternoon when I can look at it properly however. Just fore-warning you that I may be in non-attendence (I don't have access to the Citroen this weekend and don't want to be a passenger - get carsick easily if I'm not driving)

Like I said, I'll try my best to make time, but Uni has to come first. Then again, the deadline is 13th, so I have the Saturday after... It aint missed until the fat ladie doesn't sing.

Thanks for the warning Stefan. I know all about juggling priorities. Hope you can get things in order and make it on the day. If not then let me know and we'll just have to hope for next time.

Possible upside?
Hubby went out with one of his mates, got drunk, and basically volunteered to look after littl'un for the day. While this is great, and he's a v. good dad, I am Mummywoman, and worry. But if I'm feeling brave, I may still come out to play on the 15th. (Bugger, that also means I have to get out and try to get the car run-in, or I'm restricted to 3K rpm)

the exhaust/manifold is "fixed", need to check it over - it had 2 nuts left out of 6 No wonder it wasn't running great. It needs re-tuning (I think something is up with the choke), so am hoping to get it rolling roaded this week sometime.

But, at present and first inspection, it appears to be *fixed*. Which is nice.

Wendy, this is sounding good, I've always wanted to see an Elise up close. I hope you don't mind pictures of it been taken I like camera's and pictures me

Please please do. I'd so love to see your car in convoy with all these other cars.

How many miles are left before you're right foot can play? Actually country roads are OK with a 3k limit. We'll probably find ourselves cruising quite a lot anyway.

Excellent news.

Rolling road is good but for what you describe simple tuning shoud do, even 'colour tune'. Choke is purely mechanical so you should be able to check that without the need to pay for expert help.

Bob, I've been thinking about getting it rolling-roaded for a while. More to do with to see exactly how it should run then I can maintain it from there.

Just thinking about it, money is going to be very tight I guess so I'll probably give it a miss.

I have a colortune, carbalancer... Chris even showed me how to use it
