Road to Rosedale - I hope your brakes are OK

Can you resist it?

I can't

Sorry bomb, no sheep this time. I'm sure we'll find some on the day.

Bob, can you put me down for +1, a mate from Uni is joining me on the toddle down assuming good weather

Went out in the Marlin this morn and all seems good. I'll tune & check her over on Sat so should be good for a fine weather toddle.

How many miles are left before you're right foot can play? Actually country roads are OK with a 3k limit. We'll probably find ourselves cruising quite a lot anyway.[/quote]

I've had this one for 10 days, and hubby's just been going to work and back in it. Another 340 miles to go and I can get to 4500. After that..........

I'll bring a tool kit just incase Stefan has a problem as well as a load of 1/2" diameter 7/16UNF nuts to bolt the Manifold back on with!

Went out for a play on Sunday, just to make sure i can keep up. But the wind was freezing!!! Even through gloves and 4 layers, so if the wind is as cold then it's top on for me, but am definitely looking forward to it!

No answer back from Frankie and Wedgie. I know Mike can't make it so I am now assuming Frankie can't either.

Thanks Chris, I had a tool kit with me, but typically they were too long to get into the position. Once we were home it only took an hour or so to install them all and dog them up (a mate was helping and was interested in poking about looking and stuff).

The car *should* be ok, I'm not expecting anything to break, but you never know. As I said, I'll give her a through check on Saturday (after this blasted cswork deadline has passed). I'll see what happens.

I'm hoping someone won't mind putting a plastic petrol can in their boot (full of fuel). I have a strange feeling it won't fit in the car now that I have a passenger (I'll check tho)

oh just you be jealous, I have a white scarf and new hat for the trip
unfortunately the scarf has tassles and looks a little girly. My mother bought it for me special so I will wearing it with pride however
I'm kinda looking forward to this now, just hope the weather holds

Can I point out, that the likliehood of getting a signal up on the moors is very slim... Mobiles are only so much use.

I think between us all someone has to have signal. I have my RAC card ready as I have no idea how to fix my own car. I'll even be travelling with the spare wheel. I'll also be bringing a spare tank of petrol.

Two opposing weather forecasts at present so I decided not to post them. Knowing the way forecasts go I think it's still too early. Should have some confidence by Friday.

OOOOOOooooo!!! The excitement!! I have managed to get hold of a DV camera, tape and a couple of batteries to record the event.

There may have to be a frequent changing of the camera vehicle though for more interesting shots.

Excellent idea. Please only cars with passengers. I don't like the idea of drivers holding the DV. Although it could lead to an interesting recording, something worthy of Kirsty's home videos perhaps.

Camera in one hand, sick bag in the other. Should be fun. Sorry MickC I'm sure you'll drive calmly and sedately, though on second thoughts......
