Ah, that sucks man! Unfortunately things are not looking good at work, so I may have extra work to do at home. I will only know on Saturday. If I can't make it I will try and text someone. Things are not good at the moment.

Hopefully all will be good.

OOOOOOooooo!!! The excitement!! I have managed to get hold of a DV camera, tape and a couple of batteries to record the event.

There may have to be a frequent changing of the camera vehicle though for more interesting shots.

Hope things workout OK for you. Believe me getting out for a run will put that smile back on your face.

you know how you're all saying you're bringing xxx and xxx. Well, I'm bringing a "mechanic"

I even managed to fix the squealing on the car this eve That pesky distributor head was squealing that a branded piglet. Bit of WD40 and, it don't squeal no more. And at a gamble, is running far smoother as well

I'm now really hoping the weather holds (scared myself in the rain t'other day when the back end was lost going slowly).

As for camera's - Teemu will no doubt be a capable camera man. He's also a excellent navigator as I've found so I'm set

I can't wait (please, please please don't rain).

Chris, I hope you can come along Owe you several drinks I does. See what you can do mate, I'd offer my help, but then I aint that much help.

Unfortunately due to work it's only a problem I can sort out myself, unless anybody is good at knocking up high quality renders using the 3DS Radiosity solution mixed with DOF?

Nope, but I can roll my tongue!
Does that help?

Seems things are falling apart a little for some of us (and I mean that figuratively!) as we near the big event.
It's a shame, but at least now we have an idea of what peoples commitments are and when they can have free time, so next time we can hopefully find a solution that will suite the majority.
Plus I should have my car ready with a spare seat to be filled should someones car not be fit at the time.

If the weather continues as it is, it'll be a beautiful day, albeit a little nippy, hopefully with some stunning views from the ridge.

the weather doesn't look like it will be our friend this weekend. Still, until the morning and the day I'm remaining optomistic.

Bu&&er!! It's raining!!

Basically I'm trying to render out a small camera animation using a slight radiosity solution to produce ambient light at dusk, and adding a multipass Depth of field effect. Unfortunately the multipass thing is making it take ages. Need to speed it up and also get my lighting correct. Will post the results if I ever get it done. Also trying to get my lens effect and volume lights correct. Somthing's just not quite right though.

Stop posting on here and get some work done

The camcorder is on charge, there's a new tape ready and I'm set to go. The cars been cleaned and polished - and rained on again, all I have left to do is program the route into the PDA so I don't get lost. That's if I get round to learning how the PDA works.

Right someone better help me sort the route out if I make it or I'll be stranded if I get left behind. The car probably won't get cleaned this week maybe I'll do it in the dark mid next week. I have been known to do this.

Camera is charged and I'm on to rendering now.

Once you've found your way to the lay-by at Teesside Airport you'll have no problems staying in convoy. You'll need to set things up with the northern group to get from Newcastle though. It's fairly simple main roads and so you should be able to keep minimax in sight. I know he likes to 'right foot' though so you may have to have words with him.

I'm getting a very different report to that one Bob, waiting until tommorrow night, and indeed the morning before making the decision (as long as I can drive with the roof down I'm coming...).

Found out my front indicator has snapped when I washed the car as well. That'll have to be repaired tommorrow morn Plus tighten the exhaust manifold, sump & head cover's on... leaking considerable amounts of oil from somewhere Will be fine tho.

I'm an optimist Stefan. The report is as forcast by NTL. If it were bad weather I would not have reported anything.

The Lion Inn

The Lion Inn has a visitors picture gallery. We should take some photo's of our cars in their carpark and see if they would like to post them.

Hmm, I'm getting a little more excited now The car is running better than ever (Crossed fingers), it's all cleaned and polished, I've found I can store the petrol can nicely behind the passenger... Lots of work done this morn and all of it throughly enjoyable. I'll be there with passenger if I can have the roof down, (good indication considering I was driving with the roof down in the snow last weekend - by accident on the way home, but it was damned cold on the way out).

So the plan is too meet everyone in the lay by around 10:50? Leave the layby by 11? Chris/Tom/Byff et al, are we still meeting at Washington Services, what time? Chris/Tom are we driving down to Washington together? I'm picking my passenger up from Heaton (near your house Chris) so could meet up on the way down if you desire... Then again, Chris are you coming?

On last thing, I reckon we should create a mobile phone list and distribute it around a couple of people so that we can always contact the main group if needed. I've emailed Bob mine as he/you seem to be organising it.

Cheers
