the bikes all passed me as a was leaving about 1.15pm. I think some scooters were going to turn up later on too. Two toots scooter club were having a ride up.
If I learned one thing today its that i dont have any fondness for ferrari's, not sure why but looked at quite a few different types today and something about their propportions doesnt agree with my eyes.
HHmmmmmm as a younger bloke I loved Ferrari but somehow age just makes me ignore them, maybe its their overt flashyness, their complicated technical stuff I don't know but I spent more time looking at the Mark 1 Cortina. If I learned one thing today its that i dont have any fondness for ferrari's, not sure why but looked at quite a few different types today and something about their propportions doesnt agree with my eyes.

I assumed the 288 GTO was a replica. Am I right? Or did someone bring over £400k worth of Fez to sit in the rain and mud?
Yep, it's a 308 with a GTO body. I've had it for 9 years. Funny but I've never said it's anything but a 308 with a GTO body, yet it's actually pictured in the Gumball Top Trumps pack as a 288 and has been published in a Ferrari Book as a 288. The dimensions are right but the obvious omission is the lack of a visible gearbox at the rear. Oh yes and the engine cover opens from the back (as per a 308) not the front, oh yes and it's about 130 BHP down
I also brought my Countach (initially parked behind the GTO, which was actually the only original Countach at the show. The two replicas looked pretty convincing, even when I parked mine next to them.
Was gutted to miss it. Car was clean, wife was happy - nothing could spoil the plan.
Except... the arrival of my first child!
Looks like it was a great day. I WILL make the next one.
Cheers,
Chris
Ps Tris' Countach is the red 'BLAST' plated one. Identified from the replicas by the lambo V12 in it

It did sound odd when they pulled off. Both had V8's (Tvr in Red, chev in White) and they burbled away like a griff. Question for you now is 'will you get any sleep tonight with the new arrival???

Bob, there was a yellow one with a kind of 355 shape to it, but it wasn't close at all. Someone may have a pic, which I think you will enjoy it.
Yeh I spotted the yellow replicaWas gonna say hi but couldn't find you anywhere, only time I saw you was as you were leaving the show! Got chatting to a few people I haven't seen in years!
ps that lambo sounded quality when you took off, sounded pure evil
