Good pub in Castleton
Discussion
Hi all, group of us are having a lad's weekend in Castleton next weekend. Along with some hill walking and sight seeing we will ofcourse be spending a fair bit of time drinking! Anyone recommend a good pub in the town? Somewhere with good real ale's and/or good food? Any info appreciated.
Most of the pubs in Castleton are very good.
Nags head does a good roast beef sandwich and often Tim Taylor Landlord
Castle good for choice of beer and food, beer garden (can get very busy)
Bulls head looks like a bistro but again good food (slightly more expensive but well prepared) a couple of real ales
The George often have beers that I haven't seen before, feels like a local.
Old Cheshire Cheese lovely pub, lovely staff, lovely beer. Not tried food here.
The Peaks Inn just been renovated, I feel it has lost some atmosphere but beer still good. Part cafe part pub now.
