Oi!!! I met my wife in Ocean!!!! Back in the day when it was called Ritzy and was proper classy!

Are you sure
I don't remember Ocean ever being called Ritzy, it was MGM before Ocean and The Astoria before that I think
Ritzy was on the otherside of town near Victoria Centre, and is now The Palais
Or have my memories of Nottingham night clubs been distorted by too much fizzy beer and disco biscuits

Way, aye-man. Barry Nobles Astoria it was. I remember the Rock Nights on the first thursday of the month, guest DI Graham Neale from Radio Trent (before he murdered his girlfriend then committed suicide). The bouncers used to compete to get that night because there was never any trouble (unlike any other night in there), and the girls wore fewer clothes.

And the dance floor was huge.

Chicks Sorry but that just gives me the mental picture of you and the long lost Taffy standing by the toilets in your best Crocket & Tubbs pastel suits with the sleeves rolled up

That reminds me of a night out at The Social the summer before last. Myself and two girlfriends got chatting to this guy outside and when his mates called him on his mobile to ask where he was he said that he was with some 'chicks'. The three of us said, 'Chicks' with utter disgust, then walked off leaving him on his own in the middle of the street.

I am going to book a table for 7.30pm for twelve people (just in case anybody decides to come at the last minute). I shan't book until about 10.30pm, so if you haven't already added your name to the list, now is your last chance!

The table is booked under the name of 'Emma'.

Just to re-cap, the menu is a set one, three courses and is £14.95 per head. The sitting is until 9.30pm.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

I'd love to have made this (not a million miles away from Thomas Towers) but I'll be at DOTY instead.

Maybe next time!

Hopefully we can make this a regular event. It's only my third PH do! I am a relative newbie though

Sorry Em, I can't make it. I only commented on the food from past experience. Hope my seat can go to someone else.
Thanks Claire

That's a shame. I was really looking forward to meeting you Claire. I booked extra seats anyway, just in case a few more people added their name to the list. Hopefully we'll see you at the next meet

Don't forget me. And possibly one other, although I will be driving (coming from Leicester- the last train leaves at a stupidly early hour)

There's room for one more as it stands If there are any more takers, let me know so that I can call La Tasca and arrange for more seats to be added to our reservation.

There is one just up the road from La Tasca. It's called Fletcher Gate Car Park i think. Not sure what time it's open till, or there is the Broadmarsh Centre just down the road.

Hope you all have a great night!! Have some Patatas Bravas for me!!

As I drove back from the post Driver of the Year meal I did contemplate gate crashing this as it wasn't as late as I thought it was. However, I've never been to Nottingham before and had nobodys phone number

If theres another event up there, I'm in.

It was a lovely evening. Really was great to meet everyone - especially PWIG

The food at La Tasca was good, the portions were a little small though. Not exactly man sized. I have to apologise for taking everyone to what must have been the noisiest pub in Nottingham. My ears have yet to recover.

I know that the lads appreciated the Pitcher and Piano Have you got those pictures, guys, to post? I'm sure that young lady would never wear those trousers again if she saw the photographs

I'm sure we'll have another get together before too long and hopefully, Claire and Greg, you'll be able to join us then.
