Hey everyone,

That was an interesting night out, didnt think much of the grub...curry bender next time eh?

The bars were noisy, but I didnt mind it, despite being the oldest bloke 'round town...until we got to Walkabout, there were lots of older people than me there...was that REALLY Queen Bohemian Raphsody? I thought it was an awfull cover version it sounded so bad, lousy sound sytem.

Lots of PYT's to look at, nice to meet everyone, some good car talk over the noise.

Nice to see the slappers trying to eat their kebabs and stay upright without a wall to lean on, you dont really want to go leaning on walls at that time of night, they're wet!

Going to church was nice too.

On the way home I was saying to Pwig, when we get over the brow of this hill, the A610 is a great long stretch of straight dual carriageway and its downhill all the way, we'll max the Furby. Got to the top, ready to blast down...Bib were there, so it was a 65mph cruise following them all the way to Ripley.

Just had a drive in Pwigs Mazda, good fun, nice little gear change and very quick responses, we had the top down and without a PH's woolly hat, it was chilly.

Huge Furry Wittystore looked a bit glum at times? were you OK Iain?

Cya all again next time.

Warren.

It was a lovely evening. Really was great to meet everyone - especially PWIG

The food at La Tasca was good, the portions were a little small though. Not exactly man sized. I have to apologise for taking everyone to what must have been the noisiest pub in Nottingham. My ears have yet to recover.

I know that the lads appreciated the Pitcher and Piano Have you got those pictures, guys, to post?

I also had a great time, although glad I left before the kebab houses staring to empty.

Good to see everyone, and look forward to something similar soon (before christmas, perhaps???)

I think a curry would be a top idea. Before Christmas? Why not?! I know of one that has been highly recommended.

I'd best give the pubs some more thought next time. That sound system was really bad in Walkabout. Either that or they were dodgy cover versions. Freddie never sounded so bad.

The Indian restaurant I'm thinking of is close to the Trip to Jerusalem - the oldest pub in England. It is carved into the Nottingham Castle caves as well. They don't play music there either so we'll be able to hear ourselves think next time. We could perhaps then sample some of the bars on the waterfront.

I'm glad everyone got home OK. Shame you never got the Skoda flat out though Warren. Sounds like Ian had a much better blast.

I can't believe you missed that Warren! It wasn't the prettiest of sights I have to say, though the guys seemed to appreciate it somewhat

Sounds like a good time was had.

Can't believe I missed this so I could go stand around next to a railway for 4.5 hours in the rain and the cold, only to be told the job wouldn't be going ahead due to communication problems... Arse.

Beer and curry sounds more my kind of thing anyway

This curryhouse is a proper flock(sp?) wallpaper job, not some fancy chrome and glass and polished wood extravaganza is it?

Cheers, Phil

Well, I was recommended this posh, poncy chrome place by a few people. I have to say that apart from The Jewel in West Bridgford, I've only been to the flock wallpaper sort in Hyson Green and on the Mansfield Road. I was told that 4,532 miles from Bombay or Bengal or whatever its called was pretty good. I was also told that Chutney Jacks was excellent (not sure about the name though - bit iffy for an Indian).

So what do you reckon? I am always up for a night out, but I'm busy next weekend. Would new year be better given the fact that there are loads of work's Christmas does and the usual family commitments looming large in December?
