New Year Curry Night
Discussion
Cool, thanks Greg. Though I was going to stay in close proximity to the curry house to be honest, as I don't travel too well after a session. Thank you very much though.
Don't take any lip from that vagabond DeR about talking street also. You know what, I reckon he drives the Caterham with his face painted like that Gene Simmons from KISS given his liking of ye olde rock music…. thats why it only gets driven after dark. Bet his tongue gets cold though, sticking it out at passers by
What hosiery are you wearing for the night out Podie?
Thanks
MOD.

Please put me down as a possible.
Looking forward to it.
I shall prepare myself for travel south of Sheffield, cancel the whippet racing, and arrange an interpreter (for you that is).
Best Regards
Martyn.

They keep moving it
Found this on the Google,
City Spice.
The best curry house in Nottingham, which aims to give you 'a superior dining experience'. Has a wide range of dishes, including vegetarian, from mild to very hot. Some dishes are unique to this restaurant. Really friendly staff, free rice top-ups, and a great dining experience. Has a bar area too, and isn't very expensive. They now do a take away and dilevery service. Can be found on road directly opposite left side entrance to Hogshead bar, up from Market Square.
4550 Miles from Delhi.
A modern and stylish Indian restaurant. Not cheap, at around £7-13 for a main course without rice or naan, but you get huge portions. From my visits it seems that you are treated much better if you book rather than just walk in, and try not to be seated downstairs. Also has a small trendy bar. A lambda was once seen scrawled in the toilets, so it is theoretically friendly. On Maid Marian Way.
Mem Saab.
A modern and sophisticated Indian restaurant which serves traditional and regional Indian cuisines in a stylish enviroment. Attentive staff and an intimate eating atmosphere, Mem Saab offer special menus for particular times in the Indian calender. The food is just that little bit different, you get plenty to eat and it's reasonably priced for a stylish Nottingham eaterie. Also cater for groups, but its best to book. Can be found on Maid Marian Way.

With all the earlier talk of Saabs i thought you were "having a larf"...but no, google has saved you're skin!
City Spice sounds good.
O/T
...I'm off for my Christmas hols tomorrow so wont be around online much if at all until the New Year, so make sure you all behave (...Emma) while i'm gone.
Regards
Iain
Few years ago I went ot Mem Saab and remember it being quite good (I'm afraid to say I was very drunk).
Visited 4-thousand-and-something Miles From Delhi last year and was quite underwhelmed. We were a small party booked in advance. Definately not large portions (though a largr portion for me has to be pretty large!)
Stuck to the flock wallpaper types more recently (err not literally 'stuck')- in particular Noor Jarden (or something similar) at bottom of Mansfield Rd. Cheap and friendly.
Consistantly best curries recently have been at a smart, but not over the top, place with good portions at a decent price, and excellent service. But unforunately it's in Mansfield... (and I can't remember it's name)
That's the sum of my curryhouse knowledge.
Would like to come along on the 22nd, but at the moment have trouble planning more than about 10 minutes in advance.
Cheers, Phil
