Stainless exhausts around Leic / Notts / Sheff?

I'm thinking of getting a stainless exhaust for my car, mainly because OE ones are like rocking horse muck, and the pattern ones are pap.

Does anyone have direct experience of a decent exhaust firm that can knock up a proper mandrel bent pipe that sounds OE? Looking OE isn't a major difficulty as the standard tailpipe is oval, but I'm very concerned that most stainless exhausts go onto MG ZRs, Corsas and Fiestas, and deafen folk for miles around. The remainder of the market seems to be high end race kit and the likes of classic Ferraris with bonkers pricing....

A pointer on what I should be paying would be handy - I've seen prices bandied about from £400ish to some quotes I've had back at the thick end of a grand from the top end boys!

I would go to custom chrome. I think they are slightly further south, but not too far.

Car is a SAAB 9-3, OE and pattern ones are very very thin on the ground - one firm makes the front and centre sections, another makes backboxes. You can guess how well all that goes together!
