So that's:

Neilb and Liona - Wearing some rather nice tops

I thought Liona's top was lovely! Very unusual and rather elegant. And I rather liked your shirt too Neil.

I thought you were being sarcastic. Not that I didn't deserve it - its not the most manly looking shirt I own by a long way....

No! Sarcastic? Not me! I really liked the colour and the fabric.

Well, I may still have to wear black whatever happens, it makes you look slimmer and I need all the help I can get at the moment

Paisley-esque shirt.

I remember beacuse Liona could never remember everyone's names so you were known as "the guy with the paisley shirt"

Thats right. I thought the curry house would be the usual blend of drear and chintz, so I thought I'd blend in nicely

I nearly always wear black. I sometimes wonder if I wear too much of it though. When I went into a clothes store in town recently the assistant said, "And you'd like it in black?"

Hi All!

So far the 19th is out because of VMaxVII on the 20th. The 26th is out because it is Easter Saturday, so, I reckon it's looking like the 2nd April. I was hoping to coincide the night out with Jonna_Rex's visit from Finland.

Jonna! When are you visiting England?

Helloooo...well I have to talk to M_Rex about this so we will get back to you ASAP ok? My holiday starts 21 st but seems that 2nd wouldn't be that bad??? Let ya know

Proper disturbed me that....

Just be thankful we weren't eating in a North African/Middle Eastern establishment with sheep's eye balls on the menu!

Err, well if its the same people in the same place they might still do that (or could be persuaded to for a large group?)

I will confess it was quite a few years ago that I was last there (longer than I care to remember now I come to think about it ....) so my original post on the other thread was more of a suggestion/question than a proposal.

But if they will do it it makes for a great evening!

Copious amounts of tea to be consumed as well iirc.

I shall give them a call in the morning and see what they have to offer us, apart from lots of lovely jasmine tea.

LongQ has also suggested a track day to precede the evening frivolities. Heads up for takers on this would be good at this stage. (I take it you'll let us know, LongQ, about possible venues, dates and costs?)

I'm also aware that VMax is scheduled for March. It wouldn't be good to clash with this event as that would upset Daz, Greg and me (Pimp My Volvo ).

So we're firstly looking to see what is available on the 2nd April right?

If track doesn't appeal to all (due to cost, car availability, proximity to other events or whatever) we could look into something else - karting for example - or just try an exotic car parade (for those with such things) around the centre of Nottingham which is, after all, the least car friendly city in the midlands! Good place to meet up really.

OK, I'll see what the obvious options are. If nothing much we'll have to come up with plan B (and C, D, E ...)

If interest is mega we could hire Donington Park exhibition centre - I know a good local catering company who arrange great partys! Tehn limo's to Nottingham ....

sorry, getting carried away here. Where are those tablets ?

Cheers Emma.

To be honest I can't even remember what it was called - Thai Garden or something?

Initial check on track days not looking too hopeful.

Donington has Sat 26th March or a General Test on Friday 1st April. The latter likely to be proper serious stuff.

The only thing I have found so far on Sat 2 April is for Cadwell Park. Not exactly Leicestershire and probably a bit far away to consider as a group activity. However it's 105db, 3 session per hour and just 129 for the day with Trackdays.

Still looking though. Anyone out there have a master list of circuit contacts? (I've been through the web sites linked off PH.)

I will call the Donington people to see what they can tell. Maybe the numbers for the circuit organisers for Mallory and Brunters would be good to have if anyone can oblige.
