Following on from Balmoral Green's 'Drive and Lunch' thread, I was wondering if people would like to put their names down for a Sunday run after our Saturday Thai Night on 2nd April. Any thoughts on a suitable destination would be good at this stage. I personally love driving in the Peaks. I know of a very good pub too - Holmes Cottage, nr. Whatstandwell (I think.)

Can't find any prices yet, but I'd guess no more than £15 a head

What say we have the run to the GT racing and make a bigger day out of it?

Sorry to sound like an absolute bore, but this was supposed to be a Sunday run out. It'll take me less than half an hour to get to Donnington, so not much fun there then. Shall we arrange a run out and lunch for another Sunday?

Me too but we can do some tyre kicking, watch the GT, have a natter over a couple of burgers. etc.

Actually, last time I went to Donnington was to watch the Motorbike GPs and it took us 2 hours to get in and about another 2 to get out.

Lets have a straw poll then. I am easy either way.

If a fair number want to have a proper run out. I can come up with a decent route with a few opportunities for a good hard hoon for those who want to, and yet easy going for the cruisers too so they wont fall behind or get lost but catch up easily without missing any turns or feeling any pressure. Plenty to see on the way, and an interesting venue for the finish.

If however a good number would like a little pootle around in the morning to get to the racing reasonably early, then we can do that instead and have a long run another Sunday soon.

Suggest that if we have up to ten or more for the proper run, we do that, if there are only going to be one or two takers for the GT racing then its not worth the majority changing plan.

We know that

Assuming i'm able to make it to the Thai i dont mind racing or drive. Question is will you be able to keep up with the immense power of the Pugmobile, all 90something brake of diesel burning Frenchness?

Regards
Iain
