Drive Out - 3rd April
Discussion
OK, suggest we keep as far left in the car park as possible, so into the complex, left into the car park, and 'Next' is right in front of you, park up on the far left in the corner. Dougie, its between Ripley and the M1.
By the way, that stretch of the A610, which used to be an NSL dual carriageway, and a very fast clear one at that, has now been reduced to 40mph. I have no idea why, but even my mother in law (who is a magistrate and never ventures beyond any speed limit) thought that 40 mph was an unnatural speed and monumentally stupid when she drove along it the other day.

Sounds good to me too, though I could do with being at the hotel for 5pm to book in, shower change etc.
Which side of J26 is this place the Ripley side or the Nottingham side?
Emma if I haven't turned up by 12 text me as I is lost
5pm return sounds better. I have your mobile number still, so will navigate you in if you get lost Just follow the trail of eager looking shopping trolly drivers with death in their eyes.

You are chuffin' joking?! That is the maddest thing I've heard all year. Bastards! That used to be such a fine flat out stretch

man, this sucks. I have to work on saturday until 4pm!
plus I still have no working cars after grounding the mini out on the way to work this morning and bashing in the gearbox casing...if anybody saw the oil slick on collin street today that was el bastardo (my new name for the mini)
so...looks like i'm only available for the pissup in the evening and anything doing on the sunday...heigh ho
You really are unlucky aren't you Tom!
Not sure if there is going to be a run out on Sunday now as everyone, bar myself and Dougie, is off to the GT racing at Donington Park.
Iguana has just put his Corrado up for sale. It is not a VR6, but is a rather special 1.8 16V:

This is a rather tasty looking VR6:

EmmaP said:Nope, I want to avoid the A6 at all costs, it will be full of Matlock Bath daytripping numpties and slow bikers in packs of three or four taking up the whole road. If madbadger wants to meet up enroute, I suggest The Excavator pub car park on the A610 just before we turn off for Heage/Belper, or maybe East Mill at Belper.
We will be going along the Nottingham to Matlock A road.
Timetable roughly as follows:
Meet up at midday, car park near 'Next'.
Depart 12.20-12.30 'ish.
Pick up madbadger near East Mill, Belper 12.45-13.00. (Excellent hand car wash here, but the queue is about 40 minutes)
2-3 hour run about, with lots of breaks, natter stops etc.
Back to Nottingham around 5'ish.
Very casual, dont expect a detailed route map, rough notes will be adequate which I will scribble down and do a few copies. It will be easy enough to stay in a group. Exchange mobies etc just in case.
Or I may just make it all up as I go along
Dont worry about any high speeds, It will be a pleasant pootle and BG doesnt do corners anyway.
Believe that and you'll believe anything
