A Shropshire Run
Discussion
Excellent
May 8th pencilled in, then (but with an eye on the weather forecast a few days before; no point in enjoying Salop's roads in the pissing rain)
With regard to the route, I'm thinking of doing the same one as the 2008 run but in reverse. It'll still start at the same place just outside Newport, and means we can stop off at Sleap Airfield for lunch and a mooch about.
If you're taking part, copy the list below into your post and add your username and anticipated car for the day:

Just PM me for the route details

I'm on the Shropshire Cheshire borders and would be up for this.
A stop off might be Sleap Aerodrome near Wem. Greasy spoon style cafe in the control tower, aviation archaeology museum and usually some interesting aircraft knocking about.
I usually go at least once a year in one of my jalopies
I drive past that regularly on the way to the train station and have never thought to pop in, I obviously need to rectify that! A stop off might be Sleap Aerodrome near Wem. No problem at all, Mike.If nothing else, you'll be adding to the cylinder count in the car park! The last one had..........(thinks)..........38 IIRC.
Actually, looking at the current list of attendees, if we could get a Dodge Viper or E60 M5 then this run out would have a great spread of engine cylinder configurations:
4
5
6
8
10
12

I was plugging the old route into Google Maps earlier, and there will be a small change as there seems to be an issue between Lydham and Craven Arms. Nothing major, but GM - at the moment - says no.
Resurfacing - Should be open next week. There's a lot of it about at the moment round here. 1. vournikas : BMW E46 325Ci

... and if I can get my Charade GTti back on the road by then, I could fill the 3 cylinder position! If nothing else, you'll be adding to the cylinder count in the car park! The last one had..........(thinks)..........38 IIRC.

Guys due to some recent health problems its very unlikely I'll be able to make the full day. If the route is to pass through Much Wenlock where I live.I could tag along from there for an hour or two or I could come out to whatever pub you're lunching at? Would be interesting to get an idea of the route and timescales to see how/where I can fit in.
