All,
Just noticed the 8th of May is the Bike-4-Life motorcycle charity ride out from Shrewsbury to Cosford. 10-4pm.
5000+ bikes descending from all over the place, road closures and police escorts abound....
We'll have to ensure we stay further West in the county; we'd hate to get in the way when the police are going to be so busy supervising all those naughty bikers Just noticed the 8th of May is the Bike-4-Life motorcycle charity ride out from Shrewsbury to Cosford. 10-4pm.

That's a great event - very sedate drive but still plenty of police supporting for the air ambulance I believe.Just noticed the 8th of May is the Bike-4-Life motorcycle charity ride out from Shrewsbury to Cosford. 10-4pm.

How long is the drive likely to be? I've a Tesla now and it could be fun although I doubt you'd all want to stop for an hour while I charge half way round!

Thanks for the heads up, mike. Appreciated.
Although the route pretty much avoids the area in question, it does skirt past the Cosford area early on and with 5,000 bikers incoming I suspect that many will use B-Roads for the journey (well, I would), and much of the route may use the same roads.
Personally, I'd suggest moving the run-out for the following Sunday 15th May.
Thoughts appreciated!
Hello, all.
I was in the vicinity of Cosford earlier this afternoon, and the early warning signs were up for the Bike4Life event. They stated that delays were expected between 12:00 and 13:30 which I'm comfortable with.
We'll be setting off long before that, and by midday I would expect us to be at least 40-odd miles away from Cosford so I'm happy to stick to the 8th if that's OK with everyone.

Yes, still on for the 8th if that's still ok?
There were issues with PM'ing the route to everyone previously, and I did ask the question in Website Feedback as to what the problem was. One of the PH Techies did say that the PM system was a bit "wobbly" so to speak and that they were looking into it. However, there's not been an answer in the last two weeks so I can only assume that it's being brushed under the carpet.
I know I've managed to get the route across to a couple of attendees, so can those who haven't got a copy of it reply on here and I'll see if the PM system has stablilised.
Ta.

I've tried to get the westie on the road, but as is always the case, life intervened. Our two main cars have needed servicing and general road worthiness repairs. The last 2 fridays have been taken up by this, and was hoping to get the westie MOT'd this friday. Sadly, the estate has to go in instead for further work, so I will not be able to make it
Should be ready in the next 2 weeks or so, but that's no good to me here. Sorry chaps.

I've messaged you with my email so I can get a copy of the route, hopefully that will work...There were issues with PM'ing the route to everyone previously, and I did ask the question in Website Feedback as to what the problem was. Excellent, thanks! The route actually passes my house :O there are some great roads on there, lots of them I use on a regular basis. I will tag on from Ruyton-XI-Towns, what time, vaguely, are you expecting to get there? Or if I email my number, could you give me a quick text / call when you are a few miles away? If you don't mind, I will make a change to the route just after I've joined, it will avoid an awful junction that will split everyone up!There is also a lovely pub in the village if it's time for coffee / food...

I would expect some of the group with more..........firepower, shall we say, than me to get to the Ruyton area for about midday-ish there or thereabouts. With regard to the "lovely pub" you mention, I don't suppose that's The Burlton Inn by any chance? Although the plan was to have a stop off and some lunch at Sleap airfield, The Burlton would be a very agreeable alternative.
