Hi

Do you fancy meeting up in solihull first and driving to the meeting point.
Yep sure, how about meeting at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre at 07:45?
Yeah that's fine.

Had a fun drive in the MR2 to get petrol ready for tomorrow, hope it is a bit warmer in the morning though.
It'll be fine! (says the man in a "tin-top").

See you all in the morning - I should be there from just before 08.15..... (cue hehehehe )

I was thinking M42 and then A446, A38, to the meeting point.

I was more concerned about ice/salt on the road - I can dress for the air temp!

I'll also be heading up the A446/A38.

Not to worry - these things happen and hopefully they'll be another opportunity.

Evening all....here's the list below I think as it stands still with a few 'possibles'.

1. MrC986 (Mini)
2. Craikeybaby (MR2)
3. Fingers3 (350Z)
4. MrVert (911) +1 maybe
5. Kenjb83 (GT something?)
6. SebringMan (M3)
7. Eviltad (M3)
8. LukeH (possible/Lotus?)
9. DavidT (TTS)
10. V8junkie tbc (Monaro)
11. WooleyBear (Mini)
12. Robvx
13. Sturminator911

The meeting point is McDs on the Bham Road at Wall Island, nr Lichfield (WS14 0QP) to head out at 08.30 driving

I'll have 2 walkie-talkies so if anyone else has one please bring them along. Given the temperature will be cool, be prepared for it in case there's an opportunity to stop and take a pic of the cars 'up on the top'. If we make good progress, we'll stop for a quick coffee at the top of the loop in the Buxton area (& also for Lewis to get warm again biggrin ). For those wondering, if you assume the same point for start/finish, it's about 110 miles round-trip.

PS Craikeybaby...doesn't your car have rust proofing?!

I don't think there is a Japanese word for rustproofing…

Apparently Japenese cars don't have rust which is probably why you might be right....you best get your extra thermal hat ready as I saw -2 at 21.00 hrs eek

At least there's only x1 MR2 unlike quite a few makes of car which seem to be 2 or 3 deep in the German vernacular

PS the word is....防錆
Bōsei

Hope someone reads this before they depart..........

Sorry guys, the stty traffic today has screwed me over and I'm having to kip out in the truck tonight. No way I'll make it now.

Somewhat gutted and extremely pissed off.

Will hopefully make the next one.

Have a fun day.

Thanks to everyone who made it out on a cold frosty and at times foggy morning - proper PHer behaviour for a drive out into the unknown thumbup I couldn't order ideal weather although we made the most of it, especially on the way back from Flash when the sun came out for a while.

A couple of pics for those who couldn't attend and for those that might have been watching with interest but might have been put off by the possible cold weather etc. - a gold star award to Craikeybaby for going "top less" even when the outside temperature gauge on my car showed -3 & a special mention to the TVR 350 & R8 that passed us at Flash yes

I'm just off to remove the road 'crud' from car before it's returned to its little cave....Happy New Year to you all biggrin

PS The 2 "white vans" weren't part of the group

I can't believe my car looks clean in that picture. When I got back my wife thought I'd been off road

Sorry we had to peel off early, just as the roads were getting to be fun!

Chris - thanks for doing a route (again) biggrin

I think your Mini is just about the perfect weapon for roads like we were on today, must be fun peddling at speed!

Andrew - your M3 sounds fab from 50 yards behind!

Car is coated in winter grime, big clean up tomorrow!

See you all on the next one (for a bit longer)!

I'm always happy to 'escape' for something like a run out to the Peaks - it's what our cars were bought for & to see a GT4, Evora & top-less MR2 out on the winter roads is great! Car cleaning at this time of year is just a habit, even if the water was freezing as I dried the car!
