Hello, I'm new to this website so if i do get anything wrong please accept my apology.
I was just wondering what is the car scene like around the Birmingham area? is there any meet ups or shows where everyone goes?
I only ask because when i was 15 i was diagnosed with bone cancer and as a result i had to have my right arm amputated as well leaving school early etc. etc. so as i got older (now 19) i have lost most, if not all my friends and i was really hoping to meet some new people in the car community, as i have always loved cars from when i was young and it would be great to share that passion with people.

P.S
apology if that got a bit deep i just thought it would help if i gave some context biggrin XD

Sorry to hear about your condition, that must be awful! I don't know about the car scene there but there's the performance car show at the Birmingham NEC in early January, might be worth looking at. Good luck!

Welcome
I can't say much about Brum but can comment on other bits of the W Mids.

Coventry has a fair bit going on, and it's about 20 mins away on the train out of New Street.

If you head to the motor museum, it's totally free to get in. They do cars and coffee breakfast meets around once a month http://www.transport-museum.com/events/date/2018/?...

Then there's Coventry moto fest - the whole city centre gets given over to car displays and there's a demonstration track every year. Hopefully 2018 will see the ring road used for circuit racing. I go every year and really look forward to it - if they get the permission to run proper racing then I fully intend to be marshalling there
https://coventrymotofest.com/

Then in the other direction, Wolverhampton is the home of Andy Frost, a mechanic who breaks drag racing speed records. There's a big gang of us who support him in person and through Facebook. If drag racing sounds interesting drop me details of your facebook and I'll add you to the group. He's just shipping the rebuilt engine out to Bahrain and it's a complete work of art (and engineering).

I am sure there will be people along to tell you more about the Brum scene too (or since it's taken me about 30 mins to write this, they probably already have)

Spencer, how you doing? I'm in a V8 M3 at the min whilst I'm looking for a Gallardo or 991 GT3 happy to take you for a blast anytime I'm free.
Not sure of any car meets etc locally but would suggest going up to curborough sprint track by fradley won't be anything going on till the new year but well worth a look. There were a couple of lads on here that used to hire the track out for the day then charge about £50 to take your own car on. Did it many times in different cars was a good day out, they may still do it?

And just outside Brum, the Porsche club meets monthly at The Bear at Berkswell and the TVR car club meets monthly at the Bull in Meriden. Both villages are just by Birmingham airport. If you're on public transport you can get a train to Berkswell and then it's a bit of a walk, and Meriden is well served by buses out of Birmingham as it's just off the A45.

I have heard if you go looking you can often find a supercar embedded in a house wall, the problem is the location often varies.

The big Cruises have all be stopped by an injunction.

Best way is to join a smaller forum with local meets - these are usually individual car based IE MX5, 911 etc

I host/run some local events around the midlands, check out TrackAddict on instagram & facebook and keep an eye out for our upcoming events & track days. Your welcome along for a ride out in a few of our cars.

We'll be at the Autosport International show at the NEC in January, feel free to pop by out stand and say hello if you get chance to go, its great show to visit.

No car meets in Brum because of court injunction.

Worth following MLS motorsport as they occasionally have mini meets if rich boys burning tyres is your thing.

Hi, I know this is kind of old now but I'm from Birmingham and the car scene here isn't the best. I'm currently developing a web / mobile app that can be used worldwide for car meets. I'm not sure of a name yet (if anyone has any ideas let me know) but it'll be released soon. I'll add screenshots of the test build and you can see what it's going to be like. I'm going to try and promote it as much as I can so it will actually be used and be a good tool for finding and creating car meets. Once it's live hopefully the car scene here will pick up, in Birmingham and the rest of the world and it'll be 100x easier to find meets.

p.s. if anyone knows angular / .net / c# or how to code on iOS or Android and is willing to help let me know. (i'm 19 and am creating this alone and its kinda hard lol)
