Recommend a Garage in Nottingham

Hi all,

My Mx-5 failed its MOT on a lower ball joint having excessive play.

I've bought the part already and was planning to fit it myself, but after reading up have decided it's likely to be a massive PITA to do on my driveway.

Can anyone recommend a garage in Nottingham that is happy for a customer to supply their own parts?

Definately Linleys at Basford or William Oakes who do mot's at Nuthall Road. Both places have first rate staff.

I emailed Lindleys and sadly they stopped fitting customer supplied parts 6 months ago. They suggested removing the wheel nuts could be up to £25 per wheel. Just getting them off could prove to be more costly than having the ball joints fitted!

Rang Oakes William and Sons and they were extremely helpful, will be dropping the car off on Monday.

They've worked on all my old cars including 2 mx5's
Top lads, will work for cash and with supplied parts.

I know it already sorted by 5 Speed in Hucknall are worth knowing for an MX5.

Not sure if they'd fit customer supplied parts but Steve and the guys at Wilford Lane Garage are spot on.

Took the car to William Oakes yesterday and I couldn't fault them. Told them I was in no rush to have the car back and they still rang me in less than 3 hours after dropping the car off to say it was ready!

Thanks for the recommendation The Tea Boy, I'll keep them in mind for the future.

GadgeS3C, sadly 5Speed are currently in the midst of relocating. I'll probably pay them a visit at some point in the future though.
