Body repair shop recommendations - Warwickshire
Discussion
I guess I ought to update on the work Classics 1963 did for me...
The good:-
- As posted above, the paint was excellent - perfect match, well sprayed.
The not so good:-
- The lacquer chips very easily. I now (~20,000 miles later) need another front-end respray. And no, I don't tailgate...never have.
The bad:-
- The wheel refurb was the outsides only, and there's a visible cut-over just inside the spokes which I spotted the first time I washed the car. I've lived with it for now, but that felt a bit cheap by them.
- They completely ignored me when I said these cars rust from the inside out, and to cut out well above where they could see rust. ~12 months later on one side, and <18 months later on the other side, the rust was pushing through the still-pretty-fresh paint...ooh, just above where they'd cut and welded.
So having paid good money for a full respray and a professional cut-and-weld on both rear arches, I now need to get half the work done again.
That said, for what Althalus is after, I think Classics 1963 would still be worth a look.

Any other recommendations in Cov/Warwickshire? I'm loathed to try Greg with the mixed reviews and a tricky to match paint. Manhatten has shut.
Just got back to the Alfa Guilia QF and someone has reversed into the rear bumper crazing the lacquer and denting the rear bumper... Gits didn't leave a note.
Considering PL bodies in Warwick and TheBodyShop in cov.

I'm getting a quote from the guys who have taken over Manhattan as the feed back they've got online is great..
How did you get on? I need to get some scratches sorted in the next few months, and have got a couple of places on the Torrington Avenue to check out too.I'm getting a quote from the guys who have taken over Manhattan as the feed back they've got online is great..

I can update this thread with how we get on.

I don't know if they have closed down and a new business opened in their workshop, or if it is the same people rebranded.
New people have taken over the workshop. No idea how good they are, but they've been going a little while elsewhere I believe. https://autobodyworx.co.uk/
