It's all a bit grim at the moment.

And the Palais has gone bust. (Not that I've sampled the revolving dancefloor since about 1982)

The Mrs and a few mates were looking for an AirBnB place to sleep at least 6, possibly with parking, they were throwing a few locations about last night and one suggestion was Magdala Road, Mansfield Road end, now I had a mate live in that area 25 years ago, while not the roughest then and it was going through a bit of gentrification, based on the walk to the tram being across 'The Forest' I was a little bit 'not keen' on the idea, justified or not? scratchchin
Think 6, 50something women, partial to a bit of Prosecco, not familiar with the area at night. wink

Magdala Road used to be a hang out for the Nottingham Street Walking ladies, but the internet has solved that.

That part of Carrington is pretty decent, but you could cop unlucky anywhere. It's a hop skip & a jump into town, and taxis each way would cost beans between the group. (It'd be about five minutes in a cab).

It'd be less risky than Sutton or Kirkby in Ashfield though hehe

Very true. tongue out

Not managed to pry any details about what they actually plan to do except consume cash and carry levels of Prosecco drink so no idea what location would be best, it was out-of-towners just looking at properties and going 'that looks nice', and I was imparting a small amount of 25 year out of date 'local' knowledge. wink

Met the current Mrs Leg there in 1986, downstairs in the Cellar Bar, rock night with Metal Mickey…

Not been in, but this is just down the road from us & benefits from being on the quiet side of Maid Marian Way. Hot tubs & everything!

Suddenly reminded of Warrows cider bar in the Lacemarket.
There may be a good reason that I had forgotten...

How did you get her back up the stairs, after all that Rohypnol?

They had seen that one, rejected because it's a bit too big/their group is too small. wink

It was my charm - she floated up those stairs.

Who thinks this isn’t going to end well. Do we honk it could just end up being left as a building site as the council clearly don’t have the funds, brains or desire to sort it out.

How much for another review.

Do we what?

But no, I cannot see anyone investing in that. It needs to be turned into a car park.

‘Mr Collins, who set up a consultancy firm after leaving the council…’

And I wonder, per chance, who’ll get to do the probably very expensive consultancy job.

What a load of bks.
Corrupt s.

I saw him last week. He looked more like someone you'd buy a Big Issue from, rather than a detailed consultation.
