Talking of ancient decrepit bands, I’m having to venture into Nottingham on Tuesday to see Madness…
With the Lightening Seeds. Should be good (but I hope Madness do better than on Strictly the other week!)

These days about 3 million people use the tram a year.
They sound like Covid affected stats, because 19/20 was 18.7 million. 20/21 was 3.4 million.
It is. But on top of that the bigger problem is buses are currently capped at £2.00
They've just announced the losses on the tram have moved on from losing £384,000 per week...

....now up to £1,076,000 per week. Hard to imagine how that can be!

It's all a bit grim at the moment.

And the Palais has gone bust. (Not that I've sampled the revolving dancefloor since about 1982)

The Mrs and a few mates were looking for an AirBnB place to sleep at least 6, possibly with parking, they were throwing a few locations about last night and one suggestion was Magdala Road, Mansfield Road end, now I had a mate live in that area 25 years ago, while not the roughest then and it was going through a bit of gentrification, based on the walk to the tram being across 'The Forest' I was a little bit 'not keen' on the idea, justified or not? scratchchin
Think 6, 50something women, partial to a bit of Prosecco, not familiar with the area at night. wink
Magdala Road used to be a hang out for the Nottingham Street Walking ladies, but the internet has solved that.

That part of Carrington is pretty decent, but you could cop unlucky anywhere. It's a hop skip & a jump into town, and taxis each way would cost beans between the group. (It'd be about five minutes in a cab).

It'd be less risky than Sutton or Kirkby in Ashfield though hehe

Not been in, but this is just down the road from us & benefits from being on the quiet side of Maid Marian Way. Hot tubs & everything!
