Moving to Shrewsbury - Surveyor needed

Afternoon all,

we've just had an offer accepted on a nice double garage in Bayston Hill near Shrewsbury, and the wife would like to have a surveyor look at the house attached to it.

The house is an older property, so we're looking for someone experienced and realistic rather than some box checker who will point out the 200 year old staircase 'might not conform to current building regs' or that 'there is a slight smell of damp in the cellar but I did not investigate it as I'm scared of what might be lurking down there' etc.
