Dropside van hire near Redditch - needed for Sunday

Need to collect 2 items 4m long by 1m wide from Preston on Sunday and was thinking about loading them on the roof bars on an Octavia estate but worried they are too close together, there will be too much overhang and the things will just bend, or worse. They are metal but fairly light and are moulds. Been quoted £150 to bring them down but that pushes the price up to being to expensive so was looking for hire of a flatbed/dropside van locally for say £50 for the day. Is this realistic and anyone used a decent firm?
