You may already know this, but thought I would post to let the local area know about the event at

BARC Championship
Donington Park
Sunday 31st July 2005

£10 Adults
Free Children (15 and under)

More info on the Donington website here|http://www.donington-park.co.uk/races/meeting.asp?dept=t&meeting=050731

TVR Challenge Cup is on... Get there for 11:30 to see them qualifying.

Also has Caterham, Westfield etc...
And my personal highlight of the day is the 1215-1300 Lunch Break :hehe:

Hope to see a few of you there, I might be flying the TVR flag :D so easily recognisable..!

Dave.

I'll be there, either in the newly painted Chimaera, or the Chav wagon Saxo (with discrete PH sticker in the back window)
And it's even free entry if your a member of the DPRAC

Is the relatd to whether or not to form a convoy or whether you will have a vehicle with which to join in?

Where does everyone park these days? When I used to go to Donington regularly, all the TVRs used to park in the field behind Starkey's bar - I never worked out how to get to there in a car....!

They park near the old hairpin, near Starkeys Bridge..

You need to drive in the gates to the right of the ticket place.. and straight through underground through the tunnel () then carry on down, it'll lead you out in a field - you will probably see quite a few TVRs there.. so just try and get parked there somewhere.

I hope those directions make any sense - probably not.
Someone will probably be along with a better secription soon..

Dave.

If you've not been to Donington for a while, they now use the Copice tunnel for infield access, so if you've come in the normal entrance and not the padock entrance, take a right in to the museum car park, drive straight through it and you'll see the entrance, go through the tunnel and just follow the infield road round, I wouldn't expect it to be busy for a club level race meeting so any TVR's (or pistonhead stickered Pink Saxo's) will stand out in the 'crowd'

What route you planning; will the A453 be open tommorrow? (look out for the Truvelos by the power station)

Answered my own second question:
www.highways.gov.uk/news/press_releases/a453/2005_06_07b.htm

Highways Agency said:
Six weekend closures are provisionally planned for the following dates from Friday 8pm to 6am Monday morning:
July - 9/10 and 16/17
September - 3/4
October 29/30
November 5 /6 and 12/ 13.

So should be open then

Aha, no thanks for the map minimax, I'd got wrong end of both the stick and the town!!

I'll aim to get to the Radford Rd/Ring Rd McD's at 1015, or failing that if you are then going down the ring road to the A453, then I'll lurk just beyond the Queens Med on the ring road 1020-ish.
