Was at Ettington site today. Very busy and the staff had a buzz about the new site. It's opening in the 14th of sep. I will be there, hope its got the same spirit of the original.
Good to hear - we're heading down to the new site at the back end of the month despite it being about twice as far as Ettington.Do you know if they've started the appeal process for the Knockerdown site?

Yes they have. It's such a shame it has to be so hard.
But the bowl was also a hard fight.
Hopefully they’ll win their appeal. But the bowl was also a hard fight.
Just seen on Facebook that Ignition is closing due to a change in their tenancy agreement which means they have no control over the car park. Shame as I enjoyed going there and it was a nice drive.

Yea I know about ignition. That's a bh, it was not far from me and went there often. I was there the first day of opening, and was there on there last day which was motorcycle day. Sad news, turned down.Expansion plans for a Derbyshire pub would be a “disaster” and encourage the racing of high-performance cars on rural roads, a meeting has heard. At a Derbyshire Dales District Council meeting last night (Tuesday, September 12), councillors chose to refuse plans to expand the car park at the Knockerdown Inn, off the B5035, close to Carsington Water.

Yeah saw that this morning. Some of the absolute drivel coming out of the local objectors and councillors mouths is unreal.Expansion plans for a Derbyshire pub would be a “disaster” and encourage the racing of high-performance cars on rural roads, a meeting has heard. I hope C&M give up on the site, flatten it and sell it for housing. Then the locals will have nothing.
Yes as a local living there for 32 years. I hope Phil closes it and let's it run into rack and ruin. Derbyshire seems to be cursed.
The good news is that the new caffeine and machine opened today. And from what I have seen in an interview the locals are really exited about it including the council.
I am there next Friday and am looking forward to it.

The couple that drove up from Stratford to add their support to the case for rejecting it….Jesus. I’ve been to Ettington plenty of times and have never seen any behaviour like they talk about.
Apparently it was a successful business before C&M bought it….looked like a bloody dump! If I were them, I’d sack it off and sell it to a developer out of spite.

It was horrendous. I could never understand the good reviews because the bad ones were spot on in my experience. The main problem being the landlady and her approach to customer service should there be any issue. Vile woman. As for refusal for C&M, just blind prejudice based upon assumptions that likely won't happen, just because it's flashy cars. Fishtailing it out of the car park and two lane black top along the reservoir levy? Yeah right! In reality it'll be a 2CV parked up alongside a classic Ferrari with folks chatting and eulogising about both. Typical nimby tts who have no idea of the scale by which they have no idea.

Yet everyone in their objections eulogises about what a successful business it was. The objections seem to think that it’ll end up like a scene out of the Fast and Furious.

I’ve also heard the landlady was a nasty piece of work, never been there because of it.The objections seem to think that it’ll end up like a scene out of the Fast and Furious.
I’m actually quite sad that it got rejected, it would have been a cool addition to the area.

Hi all,
Myself and a friend have recently set up iGNiTiON cars and coffee in the Peak District on Baslow Road just outside off Chesterfield. We are having sold out open day event on the 2nd of January but will be open every weekend from then on, with plans to open up more as we get busier through spring. We are doing top quality breakfast, light lunch bites and hot/cold drinks to start with, but again plan to expand the menu onto full evening meal offerings.
Please take a look at www.ignitioncarsandcoffee.co.uk or follow us on instagram or Facebook.
