Saw that this morning; good news indeed. The person in question is an absolute chopper.

I just seen it.

What baffles me though, is nobody thinks it is cool, so why do they do it?
No idea, every normal person just thinks they’re a cretin.

I was getting fuel at our local retail park there other week and a took on a sports bike did a massive wheelie, got to a set of traffic lights bouncing the engine off the limiter before flying off up the dual carriageway.

Apart from it being really dickish, I’d just not want to be driving a cold engine like that. Perhaps I’m just old and boring now.

I think the older you get the less value you place on what other's think of you.

You say this, but just scroll through the comments on their post. The amount of people having a go at C&M for daring to call out this behaviour is staggering. It goes further with people then moaning that you now have to book to go because they're successful. I can see why more of these places don't exist because from an ownership perspective, there appears to be a decently sized portion of the general public who are absolute numpties.

I saw something similar but far worse on the B Road Hunting Club (The Stag) page, I think they had to take down the post in the end as the comments were full of idiots wishing for their business to fail because they called someone out (another C63 I think) for leaving like a bell. Moan after moan about how not letting Dave in his S3 bounce it off the limiter on the exit into traffic was "boring" etc.

I've started to see it creep into everyday life as well which is more worrying, at a set of traffic lights a few months ago a guy next to me in a recovery truck asked if I was going to "smoke the rears" away from a set of lights. He couldn't understand why I said no, looked genuinely offended rofl

There’s a lot of whinging on the FB thread, most of what I saw was bikers getting grumpy because there was a picture of bikes leaving when it was a car at fault…they literally couldn’t get their heads around it’s just a bloody picture.

It does make you wonder why they bother really; it seems like a lot of aggro and behaviour like that isn’t going to help them open new sites like Derbyshire where there’s a lot of opposition. As always though, it’s the minority who cock it up for everyone else.

I love cars and am a bit of a car nerd but often which I want given how many ‘car guys’ behave like cockwombles. It’s not just Wayne in his Golf R. I went to a Collecting Cars thing at Donnington last year and the worst offenders were middle aged blokes in super cars.

Do you not think it’s the FB, social media, Tik Tok generation and mentality that invites and incites this! I certainly do. When everything was ‘underground’ it was much more discreet, discerning and desirable.

You're not wrong there, I do think a lot of it is "clout chasing". Either by filming you and your mates to plaster it all over social media as "certi" or being those not old enough to own anything filming and encouraging this behaviour from those that do.

True; the video of the bell end in the M1408 was on TikTok.

There are YT channels dedicated to ‘sends’ after a car meet. It’s all a bit tragic really.

God that FB comment section is depressing. So many people completely missing the point and getting the arse about something unrelated. I wouldn't have the patience to run a business like C&M with all the bellends on social media, then having to deal with even bigger bellends trying to ruin the hard work they've put in making it a great place to visit by driving like morons.

It really is isn’t it? Loads of bikers complaining that they don’t feel welcome or like the bike parking spots etc. Most of them probably didn’t read the article.

You’d certainly need more patience than I have to run a business like that these days.

To be fair to the bikers though the gravel isn’t great. I’d even say at first glance the article headline paired with a photo of bikers wasn’t the best idea either.

Shouldn't make the slightest difference really. They are vehicles that frequent C&M- if there was a pic of an Alpine leaving the site would that mean all Alpine drivers would be up in arms? Bad example but you know... smile

So I've been to "The Bowl" this morning, as soon as I got there, I had deja vu and realised I had been there back in 2017

2017 when it was called The Chequers - My old MK2 Golf GTI with TDI 170ps lump

2023

The place is nice inside, mind you it was in 2017, I didn't sample any beer or food as didn't really have time but will be going back there during a midweek, there was a handful of cars in the car park and the atmosphere was very chilled, staff seemed nice and enthusiastic.

The line up of cars and bikes you have there is already more interesting than what you'd have at The Hill.

Apparently the first picture of the bike in front of the building might get me told off, another Bobber owner has just messaged me to say he took a similar picture and then got a bking off somebody who works there (we had to cross the road to take the picture) and got threatened with a ban.
