Is that from Hulland to Western underwood to Kedleston/Derby way? That is a fast road. What makes the surrounding areas dangerous are the lorrys from the various quarries that always seem to be around every bend, and non locals do not take this intro account.
Its a bum about your cat
Yeah, on the bit before the Cock Inn.Its a bum about your cat
Fortunately the lorries seem to go via weston underwood, it's mostly the bikes that are my issue at the moment, you get used to the cars, but some bikes are just so loud it can totally ruin whatever you are doing. I'm worried if you add fast cars to it it'll be a living nightmare.
I actually like the idea of C&M near here and it's a good location near carsington, I just hope it doesn't end up constant fast cars all weekend.

I think most people will be considerate, but there are always those that can’t help themselves. The first few weeks will probably be testing I’d imagine because of said people.Fortunately the lorries seem to go via weston underwood, it's mostly the bikes that are my issue at the moment, you get used to the cars, but some bikes are just so loud it can totally ruin whatever you are doing. Let's hope so.I was talking to my sister about it, most people do indeed think it's a great idea

Love the sound of a C&M being on the doorstep. I shall be attending if it all goes well with it. As good as the original one is, it’s a bit of a trek for a Sunday morning run out, mostly motorway driving too.
Try the A38 way past the belfry. There is no need for motorways mate. Takes about the same time and with far better roads. One hour 25 from Derby. You should try driving to the motorist near Leeds from Derby. Now that's genuinely a two hour drive and most of it on motorways Great place, but not as good as C&M imo. But not worth the motorway driving.

Being in Nottingham I'm quite looking forward to this. It'll be slightly closer and a bit more of an interesting route than the A46 and M69
I get everyone's concerns about "knobbers", but I think at the existing site they do a pretty good job of keeping things respectful, at least in the immediate vicinity.
Any new venue that's car-centric deserves some support in my book.

As a Derbyshire petrolhead (born and brought up in Matlock, emigrated south to Derby in 1993) I think that overall this is brilliant. A location like this is never going to suit all but I think the pros outweigh the cons. At least it isn't another boarded up country pub that dies a slow, painful death. Can't wait for a run up there in the Nova!
Read all about it here - you can even register on the planning portal and support (or object if you really don't belong here :-) )

I am nothing to do with C&M by the way - just grateful for something like this nearby. Even Derbyshire Police don't appear to have any objections

I like the idea of the display section - I really liked that all sorts of cars got pride of place - it wasnt just supercars, its old stuff, quirky stuff, horrendously (IMO) modified stuff etc. I think its great to revamp an area and give petrolheads a place to go. Yes there will be antisocial driving but tbh there is plenty of that anyway - but realistically the police will work with the venue, amd talk to people and theyll get a far better response that way anyway. Its usually residents that kick up a fuss for noise etc. But as times go on I think its great to have a place to meet new people and talk cars. http://plandocs.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/NorthgatePu...
Looks like it’ll be a good be a good venue if they can secure planning, albeit I can’t see it being open for a while yet. There’s a decent amount of work required looking at the planning applications and despite the impending financial doom, the construction industry is massively busy. It’s hard to secure contractors, labour, plant and materials at the moment.
I note there has already been a representation made; mentioning traffic / increased noise but also saying that the design is jarring and not in keeping with the area. I think planning will be their biggest hurdle.
