Great Day
Thanks to Chassis for organising it and everyone for turning out. Really good drive with (very) fresh air and nice to put names to faces. Got some piccies but the way to remove them from the phone defeats me so perhaps I'll just wait for others

Back home posting through the GPRS data card - I'd forgotten how slow 56k is !!!

Thanks all for a great day, not sure what my favourite part was, probably following Ian's SD1 - I'm still amazed how well it handled the roads.

All those who haven't experienced the 'Evo' triangle - arrange the trip, you know it makes sense.

Great roads, great company (just don't mention the fuel consumption)

Right. The 4 hour xfactor marathon has finished, can post now.

Really enjoyed the day. Can see why EVO use those roads now, boy they sort cars out don't they?

Must say also, PH runs are much more livelier than the MG runs we go out on, funny that isn't it?

Thanks to Chassis for organising, amazing speeds you achieve with that bloody big barge... A Vitesse in its day must have been good.

Thanks also to Lexxie for making sure everyone was still en route, very busy with the phones she was.

Highlights? The SD1, the weather, the company, the roads and the cars, but mostly, in the morning we were behind the CSR and the Chimera. What a soundtrack we were getting!

Thanks for all the compliments about the car guys, very chuffed. However in reality, its a typical BL rust bucket, dressed up to be something it's not, with too hard front springs, too soft and underdamped rear springs/shocks, a slush box, and boiling brakes, I was on the hand brake on the way down the return leg of the second run, pedal pumping right to the floor with the back end of the Clio getting ever closer. The car's just driven by a complete fugging nutter.

Yeah, I was crashing through the suspension travel at the back, if i decide to keep the car long term, I'll get the guys who are doing the suspension on the Chimaera racer to sort something for the SD1, also the company I'm developing the brakes with on the Chimaera are developing some for the SD1 so I'll have a set of 4-pot alloy calipers and dinner plate sized discs, but most the problems today were boiling fluid, they're looing to develop MX5 stuff soon to interested in a cheap pair of calipers for some develpment work?

Could you send me the details of your supercharger, as you commented there is a nice big space to mount one...

I never watched any of the X factor, but I listened to those 2 bloke's in the final and they should have both won. I think they are as good as anyone in the business.

Guys, I'd just like to say that it was a really great day and it was nice to meet all of you. Special thanks to chassis 33 for sorting all out. Much appreciated

I have the photos from yesterday but before I post them, I just wanted to know if anyone would like their numberplates blanking out?

Dan (passenger in the very red and very cold Elise)
