Right then folks, thought I would get this one in early so we can organise something!
Once the Christmas and New Year rush has died down and we are in the lull before any decent weather turns up, why don't we have a beverage or three somewhere in wonderful Nottingham!
I choose Nottingham of course as that is where I live but somewhere close by would be a good idea too! We could head into the city on a weekend evening for a few drinks and if anyone can add to the list of (admittedly very studenty) places that I can think of that would make a good night I reckon!
No idea about dates other than I get back from my study abroad trip (big bloody holiday ) on January 23rd. I will be back in Nottingham by the end of that week!

So can anyone suggest any dates, times, places and most important who is up for it!!!

Over to you folks, just add your name to the list:

Hi Ben!

I was chatting with a few Midlanders the other week and we were thinking that another curry night out in February would be good. The usual drinks, food, more drinks, then clubbing.

I'm away on the 28th January, but any weekend in February would be good.

It'll be nice to catch up with you again

Feb would be good. I happen to know one Midland'er (who owns an Aston DBS V8) has his birthday on Sunday 19th Feb. Would'nt it be a nice surprise....

Ooh! Another birthday cake or two That M&S chocolate one was delicious last year. What about Saturday 18th February then? The general concensus when we talked about a curry night was that February would be better when Christmas had been [nearly] paid off. And what a jolly nice car you have too Sir!

40th eh? I wont tell you how old I'll be...

Here's a thought: Its the Leicester Comedy festival at the same time, with the last acts on the 19th Feb.

Why dont we go there instead?

Hmm.

Leicester is, of course, a great location for serious curry testing.

So I'm told.

It is all authentic stuff. I tried a starter once called 'The Bomb'. When I suddenly went rather red and tears welled up in my eyes, my two male friends thought I was being soft. So, despite the fact that my mouth was on fire, they had to have a taste, certain to prove me wrong. They too experienced the unexpected pain of chilli paste It was nearly ten minutes before my taste buds recovered.

They reckon Leicester is even better than Bradford for the good ol' curries and the curry capital of the north takes some beating!
That weekend sounds fine from here. I am back from NZ via a few other places at the end of January - 25th I will be back in Nottingham IIRC!
Whatever anyone wants to do really although the comedy festival mixed with curry and clubbing sounds like a great idea.

Keep adding your names to the rogues gallery folks, where has that Minimax fella gone to?

Great 5 birthdays to celebrate on the same weekend. Can you imagine what the restaurant will think when we tell them

"Its a birthday celebration"
"how old?"
"29. And 40. And....."

We've got to do it. All those birthday celebrations will really annoy the other guests!

There is a Eurohoon meet on the 18th February, so I shan't be able to make that weekend. I doubt that Mr and Mrs Rude will either.
