No problemo Warrne and Tom... no doubt I'll try and make it to a meet at the Red Lion. Hopefully we'll do some more BBQs as well.

Hopwfully I'll take it to pistonfest as Lisa is on a hen night, just need to find a baby sitter.

Oh and by the way it is bonkers and goes like the preverbial. I think a 300bhp would almost be undrivable on the public roads. I had a play with a Boxster S on Saturday briefly and I didn't need over half throttle..

If its dry and warm I drive my V8 Ginetta G33 - Cheltenham to NEC regularly on weekdays, or around Cotswolds at weekends. The rest of the time its the Beemer 530 Sport.

I don't see many Ginettas on the road - anyone got one?

Hi Minimax

I have spoken to the bloke who bought your car, he is in the process of stripping it down and re-building it, so it is in good hands. There is a racing green one for sale at the moment if your circumstances have improved.

I had nowhere to keep it except on the street outside my house and as winter was approaching I figured...sell it.

the chap must be quite thorough if he's rebuilding (unless you mean the exterior as it did have some battle scars from the roads of southern portugal ) it as it was lovingly serviced at simply huge expense by macdonalds on my behalf... I hope it gets driven and does not become a garage queen that would be a poor result for it IMHO

my situation has improved drastically in actual fact but last week I bought a mint modified TVR S3c as I wanted a waterproof car that wouldn't leak when I want a weekend car i'll buy another G33 perhaps...it's jut that seeing those pictures of yours brought back the life changing memories I had in mine...in reality I detested the leaking, the huge expense, the extremely poor build quality and the lack of security of any type...I still miss it though

onwards I say, the consideration after the (in relative terms) stop gap of the TVR is a 993tt and if I went back to the Ginetta it would only be as a weekend car - I just like driving a nice car to work, what can I say

Hi Emma. The G33 looks great as long as build quality is not high on the agenda. Let me know when you are next in the area, you might hear the car comeing. I hopetoattend some Midlands PH meets when the weather is better! car is currently in the workshop spending my money. I am taking it to Le Mans this year in convoy with a 911, Ferrari 355, Chimera, soit needs to be in finest form.

I know whatyou mean about the leaks, the G33 is a sunny weekend car only. As for running costs I don't think a TVR or a 993 would be cheaper to run. My mate with a 993 has just spent £3000 at the stealer because the immoboliser was more effective than he wanted it to be!

The guy who bought your car is doing pretty much everything, last time I heard he had the body off and was replacing dif mounts and Lobro joints. He has done shocks and springs all round. Hopefully he will use it as well!

I drive mine and save the work for the specialists.

The TVR looks good.

This thread has got me thinking and I've just updated my profile for all my old cars etc. It's bad that the longest I've ever kept a car is nearly two years!!

I agree with your comment on the car!

You have a good site by the way, any chance you could do all us poor folk and good turn and take some professsional pics for us "CHEAP". (You know for locals)

Just down the road in Evesham chap..

Good to see there are other PH'ers closeby.

Not sure about the dragstrip, I've got a feeling that 0-60 in 5 secs would be embarassingly slow. I know of a G33 owner who with a combination of bigger engine and nitrous gets over 500bhp from his G33, aparaently he uses it for drag racing.
